Ronaldinho dismissive of retirement talk: 'I'm going to play a little bit more'

Ronaldinho had his contract terminated by Fluminense in September.

Ronaldinho is adamant he has no plans to retire and has vowed to sort his future at the end of next month.

Ronaldinho, 35, has been without a club since parting ways with Brazil's Fluminense in September, and told ESPN Deportes in November that he was choosing between continuing his career in MLS and Qatar.

The former Barcelona star took part in Fluminense's recent Florida Cup matches in the United States, which took place between Jan. 10 and 20, but is not under contract with the club.

Ronaldinho to play for Ecuador's Barcelona in friendly match

Brazil legend Ronaldinho is in advanced talks to play a Jan. 30 friendly match for Ecuador side Barcelona Sporting Club and could also be making a return to former club Fluminense.

Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, said that the Guayaquil club's front-office directors are near a deal for the club's "Noche Amarilla," the event at which the Ecuador Primera A side present their players for the 2016 season and play a friendly match against another league club.

Barcelona are this week expected to confirm the signing of young attacking midfielder Robert Goncalves on a one-year loan from Brazilian side Fluminense. The 19-year-old will join up with the club's B team for an extended trial that may result in a permanent move and eventual promotion to the first team if he impresses sufficiently at the Mini Estadi.

Robert grew up in Sao Goncalo in the interior of Rio de Janeiro state, where he was spotted by a scout from Fluminense when he was nine. He rapidly...

Ronaldinho has no plans to retire and is studying offers, says brother

ESPN FC's Alexis Nunes discusses Ronaldinho's contract being terminated by Fluminense, but where will the Brazilian head next?
Brazilian star Ronaldinho launches a counterattack with this extraordinary piece of skill in Queretaro's 2-2 Liga MX Torneo Clausura quarterfinal against Veracruz.

Ronaldinho's brother and agent has dismissed any talk of the two-time FIFA World Player of the Year retiring and said he is "carefully studying the offers that are coming in."

Brazil legend Ronaldinho, 35, was released by Fluminense on Monday after just two months and nine matches at the Rio de Janeiro club.

However, any speculation that the former Barcelona star -- who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 -- would take this setback as his cue to end his playing career was ruled out by his older...
