Fiorentina forward Giovanni Simeone out to emulate father's success

Fiorentina forward Giovanni Simeone said he has had to work hard to emerge from the "burdensome" shadows of his father, but believes his determination to have a similarly successful career.

Simeone is heading into his second season with La Viola having scored 14 goals in 38 appearances last term, following a move from Genoa -- his first club in Italian football.

His father, Diego, had three spells in Italy -- with Pisa, Inter Milan and Lazio -- and Giovanni admits his father's success means he could...

West Ham's Edimilson Fernandes makes season-long Fiorentina loan move

ESPN FC's Paul Mariner calls Liverpool's attacking prowess against West Ham "a joy to watch", hailing the debut of newcomer Naby Keita.

West Ham midfielder Edimilson Fernandes has completed a season-long move to Fiorentina, the Premier League club said on Monday.

Edimilson's move to the Serie A side was part of the deal in which Colombian midfielder Carlos Sanchez arrived in London last week, it has been reported.

Switzerland international Edimilson joined West Ham from Sion in 2016 but has struggled to make an impact, managing 48 appearances in all competitions amid injury problems and poor form.

Fiorentina reportedly paid an initial...

West Ham sign Arsenal's Lucas Perez and Fiorentina's Carlos Sanchez

Despite Unai Emery's fresh ideas at Arsenal, ESPN FC's Craig Burley isn't so sure the Gunners will secure a top four spot.
Petr Cech was the hero in Arsenal's penalty shoot-out victory after Alexandre Lacazette's injury-time equalizer offset Antonio Rudiger's early goal.

West Ham were busy on transfer deadline day, signing striker Lucas Perez from Arsenal and defensive midfielder Carlos Sanchez from Fiorentina on Thursday.

Perez, 29, signed a three-year contract at the London Stadium, where he reunited with former Arsenal teammate Jack Wilshere.

"I'm very happy to be here at such an historic club," he told the club's official website. "I'm very excited, as West Ham are giving me the chance to stay in the Premier League and I'm very happy to be part of this new project....

Everton agree Kevin Mirallas loan move to Fiorentina for 2018-19 season

Former Everton forward Brian McBride questions Richarlison's value for the Toffees as the FC crew examine the club's transfer policy.

Everton winger Kevin Mirallas will join Fiorentina on a season-long loan subject to a medical, both clubs have confirmed.

Belgium international Mirallas, who moved to Goodison Park from Greek side Olympiakos in 2012, has struggled for regular playing time in recent months.

The 30-year-old, who spent the second half of last season back on loan at Olympiakos, has seen his chances of a first-team place further diminished by the arrival of Richarlison from Watford.

Mirallas made his most recent Everton...

Ex-Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi: I lost count of my knee surgeries

Bryan Robson sheds light on Man United's preseason preparation, which youngsters he'd like to see shine, Paul Pogba's leadership role and more.
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw makes his intentions for the season clear, hoping to take advantage of his opportunity during the ICC.

Former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi says he "lost count" of how many knee surgeries he's had as he opened up on his injury woes.

The ex-Italy international moved to Old Trafford from Parma as a 16-year-old amid high expectation in 2004. However, he has been plagued with serious knee injuries ever since which effectively ruined any chance he had of playing at the top level.

Yet he is determined not to give up and to make the most of his ability.

"I kinda lost count of the knee surgeries...
