Players clash with pitch-invading fan, sparking riot in Brazil

A Brazilian derby match was interrupted by a riot on Sunday which started when a supporter ran onto the pitch and was wrestled to the ground by a player from the away team who was in turn accidentally kicked by a teammate.

FC Dallas signs Brazilian full-back Marquinhos Pedroso from Figueirense

FC Dallas signed Brazilian left-back Marquinhos Pedroso with Targeted Allocation Money, the team announced Thursday.

Pedroso, who joins from Brazil side Figueirense, won't be able to suit up for Dallas until the secondary transfer window opens on July 10.

Dallas' first game after the window opens is July 14 against the Chicago Fire.

Pedroso's signing was expected after he posted pictures of himself wearing an FC Dallas uniform on Instagram last week. He was in Dallas that day for a physical.

A competition meant to be the precursor to a Brazilian Premier League has been officially formed after a meeting by member clubs in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.
