Danish club FC Midtjylland may have found a solution to have fans present at football matches after the coronavirus shutdown: drive-in football.

Mabil ready to take Socceroos career to 'next stage'

Matildas captain and star striker Sam Kerr sits down with ESPN to share her journey from Aussie rules to soccer and what coming home to Perth truly means.

Awer Mabil says that he is nervous about kicking off his maiden World Cup campaign, but feels he's at the stage to deliver for Australia.

The speedster, who has scored four goals in 10 appearances for the Socceroos, has joined the quest for a berth in Qatar in 2022, which starts against Kuwait on Tuesday.

Mabil will take a lot of confidence from a strong campaign with his Danish Superliga side Midtjylland, who are undefeated and top of the table after winning seven of their eight matches since July.

Melbourne Victory sign Denmark international Poulsen

Denmark international midfielder Jakob Poulsen has joined Melbourne Victory for the upcoming A-League season.

The 36-year-old, who played 35 times for his country, has signed on a one-year deal to continue his career in Australia after last playing for Danish Superliga club Midtjylland.

Poulsen's long professional career has featured stints in the Danish, Dutch and French football leagues, most notably with French Ligue 1 giants Monaco between 2012-14.

You might have missed it as the camera angle was panned down to a close-up on the corner flag in the 79th minute. With Liverpool 3-0 ahead against Barcelona in their Champions League semifinal second leg but tied 3-3 on aggregate, the announcers were taking a breath ahead of what seemed like a run-of-the-mill corner kick and even Anfield itself seemed quiet.

An extra ball rolled over to a scampering ball boy; Xherdan Shaqiri shuffled toward the corner flag and Trent Alexander-Arnold measured...

Australia's Awer Mabil heads into South Korea friendly in fine form

Awer Mabil scored a goal on his debut for the Socceroos against Kuwait last month and has been in sparkling form for Danish club FC Midtjylland since then.

Before linking up with the national team in Brisbane ahead of Saturday's friendly against South Korea, Mabil scored twice and set up another two goals in Midtjylland's 5-0 Superliga win over Vejle BK -- a display that earned Mabil a spot on the reserves in FIFA 19's team of the week.
