Cologne won't re-sign Lukas Podolski if he leaves Arsenal

Former Germany international Christoph Metzelder believes Lukas Podolski may have to leave Arsenal to keep his place in the national side.

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski will not be returning to hometown club FC Cologne even if he does leave London in January, sporting director Jorg Schmadkte has said.

Cologne's players mark start of carnival season with red wigs

Cologne have kept their good form of late going after claiming a 4-3 win over Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

On Tuesday, Cologne's carnival celebrations got underway -- and the city's football club wasted little time in taking part in the festivities.

At 11:11 a.m. thousands of masqueraded people lined the streets of Cologne to mark the opening of the carnival season, which will run into 2015.

Joining them, albeit on the training ground, were Bundesliga side Cologne, whose players also got into the spirit by sporting vibrant red wigs as well as a variety of costume props.
