The Blues are in the market for a new left-back after allowing Baba Rahman to join Schalke on loan for the season and Cologne defender Hector has been identified as Antonio Conte's top target.

Hector has established himself as first-choice left-back for Germany and played in every game for his country at Euro 2016 this summer.

Barcelona have not made contact about Jonas Hector - Cologne chief

Cologne sporting director Jorg Schmadtke refuted claims that Barcelona have submitted an offer for Germany international defender Jonas Hector.

The 26-year-old left-back's agent told the German club the Blaugrana were interested in acquiring his client's services, however Schmadtke made clear the La Liga champions have yet to formally reach out.

"There has not been any direct contact with Barcelona over Hector," Schmadtke told Kicker.

"I cannot say €18 million is not enough for him,...

Neven Subotic is set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Cologne have confirmed their interest in Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic but said the deal would be difficult financially.

Subotic, 27, announced at the weekend that he plans to leave Dortmund after falling down the pecking order following the appointment of Thomas Tuchel last year.

When asked by kicker about Cologne's potential interest, sporting director Michael Schmadtke said: "That's a consideration, but he's practically in another category."

Schmadtke appeared to be referring to the...

The historic moment kept Albania's hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage alive after their first two games, against Switzerland and France, ended in defeats.

Cologne defender Mavraj, 30, told the club's official website that Albanian president Bujar Nishani had congratulated them in the immediate aftermath of...

Liverpool have made no offer for Jonas Hector - Cologne chief

ESPN FC's Stewart Robson questions whether Yacine Brahimi would be a smart move financially and tactically for Liverpool.

Cologne have dismissed reports they have agreed a fee with Liverpool for Germany international Jonas Hector.

At the weekend, Liverpool fanzine This Is Anfield reported the Reds and Cologne have agreed a fee for to transfer the left-back and suggested he could move to the Premier League for around £12 million.

But speaking to Bild, Cologne sporting director Jorg Schmadtke dismissed those reports.
