Cologne have signed Germany under-21 international Dominique Heintz from second-tier club Kaiserslautern.

The 21-year-old is set to replace Tottenham signing Kevin Wimmer in the club's back four.

The Bundesliga club announced that Heintz has signed a three-year-deal with Cologne, who earlier this summer sold Austria international Wimmer to Spurs.

Kevin Wimmer signs for Tottenham from Bundesliga side Cologne

Kevin Wimmer made 32 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of defender Kevin Wimmer from Cologne.

Wimmer, 22, made 32 Bundesliga appearances this season, as Cologne finished 12th in the table, with the fifth best defensive record in the division.

The Austria centre-back has signed a five-year contract at White Hart Lane, while his fee has not been disclosed.

Wimmer, 22, has played 32 Bundesliga appearances for Cologne as they finished 12th this season, while he has been tracked by Arsenal.

However, the Austria international chose to join Mauricio Pochettino's side and claims it will happen regardless of Tottenham playing in next season's Europa League.
