Pep Guardiola will return to the Camp Nou after Manchester City and Barcelona were drawn together in the Champions League group stage on Thursday.

Guardiola spent the majority of his playing career with Barcelona and led them to two European titles as manager in 2009 and 2011.

And now in his first season as City boss, he will face off against his former club in Group C, along with Borussia Monchengladbach and Celtic, when the group stage begins next month.

FC Basel sign Seydou Doumbia on season-long loan from AS Roma

Seydou Doumbia had a disappointing spell in the Premier League earlier this season.

AS Roma have confirmed that striker Seydou Doumbia is to join Swiss club FC Basel on loan for the season.

Doumbia, 28, joined Roma in January 2015 from CSKA Moscow, going on to score two goals in 14 games during the remainder of that campaign.

After a successful spell back on loan at CSKA in the first half of last season, scoring five goals in 13 league appearances, he joined Newcastle United for the second half of the campaign.

Pablo Zabaleta, left, is reportedly set to leave Man City to move to Roma.

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta is close to completing a £2.5 million move to Roma, according to reports in Italy.

The 31-year-old is entering the final 12 months of his contract at City but has been offered a longer deal with the Serie A club, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Zabaleta fell below right-back Bacary Sagna in the pecking order at the Etihad last season and, coupled with two major injury setbacks, he made just 12 starts in the Premier League.

Breel Embolo joins Schalke from Basel on five-year contract

Breel Embolo featured for Switzerland at Euro 2016 but was unable to score.

Schalke have completed the signing of Switzerland striker Breel Embolo from Basel for an undisclosed fee.

Embolo, 19, has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga club and kicker reports that he cost €20 million plus add-ons.

"In Breel Embolo we have won over a highly talented attacker who was highly coveted by several top European clubs, and who already has a lot of international experience," sporting director Christian Heidel said on the club's official website
