Ingolstadt came from behind to beat Bavarian rivals Augsburg 2-1 at the Audi Sportpark.

Konstantinos Stafylidis put the visitors in front in the 14th minute with his first goal of the season, his sweetly-struck volley from 20 yards out flying into the top right-hand corner.

Ingolstadt hit back and only goal-line technology saved Augsburg by confirming that Dario Lezcano's shot had not crossed the line before Stafylidis blocked it.

A succession of headers inside the area culminated in Marvin Matip finally...

Augsburg's Daniel Baier could miss Liverpool clash through injury

Daniel Baier Augsburg
Daniel Baier picked up the injury against Eintracht Frankfurt last week.

Augsburg midfielder Daniel Baier is a doubt for the Europa League round-of-32 tie against Liverpool after being sidelined with an ankle injury.

The two sides meet in Europe this month, with Liverpool travelling to Germany on Feb. 18, before Augsburg make the trip to Anfield a week later.

The Bavarians have been in good form in recent weeks, having remained undefeated in their last seven Bundesliga matches, winning four of those while scoring eight goals and conceding only one.

However, Augsburg,...

Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt had to settle for a point apiece in Bavaria with the hosts grateful to their goalkeeper for preventing worse.

Marwin Hitz almost single-handedly kept Frankfurt at bay, making the most spectacular of saves on the hour mark to deny Alexander Meier from close range with a one-handed reflex stop.

Another fine intervention from Hitz denied Stefan Aigner, before he made another fine stop from Szabolcs Huszti's deflected shot.

Augsburg could therefore take more pleasure in...

Augsburg prepare for Jurgen Klopp visit with emergency specs

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits his new glasses possess a grim likeness.

With Liverpool set to square off against Augsburg in the knockout phase of the Europa League in a few weeks, the Bundesliga side have taken steps to prepare their stadium for the imminent visit of Jurgen Klopp and his band of merry men.

In reference to the Reds boss breaking his glasses in the process of celebrating a dramatic 5-4 win over Norwich at the weekend, Augsburg have jokingly prepared a set of emergency specs for Klopp should he have the misfortune of suffering the same fate at the WWK...

Hertha Berlin and Augsburg, the Bundesliga's two form teams before the winter break, shared the spoils from a 0-0 draw in the German capital on Saturday.

The two teams returned to league action lethargically at the Olympiastadion and, while they managed to extend their respective three and five-game unbeaten streaks, neither side will be particularly happy.

Hertha cement their top-three spot while 13th-placed Augsburg remain the same distance above the relegation zone they were before kick-off.
