Augsburg's Daniel Baier defended in obscene gesture row vs. RB Leipzig

Daniel Baier and RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl row during Tuesday's game.

RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl refused to shake hands with Daniel Baier after the Augsburg captain made an obscene gesture in his direction when the two sides met on Tuesday.

With around 15 minutes left and hosts Augsburg defending a 1-0 lead, midfielder Baier went to ground close to the Leipzig technical area.

As he got up, he made an obscene gesture in the direction of Hasenhuttl and also appeared to spit in his direction.

The Leipzig coach told Sky: "I don't need to comment on it. I informed...

Striker Raul Bobadilla leaves Augsburg to rejoin Borussia Monchengladbach

Striker Raul Bobadilla has left Augsburg after four seasons.

Striker Raul Bobadilla has rejoined Borussia Monchengladbach on a two-year contract after passing a medical.

The 30-year-old Paraguay international, who spent two-and-a-half inconsistent years with Die Fohlen at the turn of the decade, scoring only five Bundesliga goals, has left Augsburg following a four-season stint.

Monchengladbach tweeted the announcement of a deal for Bobadilla -- also a former Grasshoppers, Young Boys and Basel player - with a picture featuring the caption: "BOBA IS BACK."

Hamburg SV, Augsburg crash out to minnows in DfB Pokal

Bobby Wood and Hamburg crashed out of the DFB-Pokal at the hands of 3.Liga side Osnabruck, who played 70 minutes with 10 men.

Even against 10 men from the third division, Hamburg SV couldn't get past the German Cup's first round.

VfL Osnabruck beat the Bundesliga side 3-1 on Sunday to repeat its 2009 feat, when it defeated Hamburg on penalties.

There was no need for penalties this time as Osnabruck -- which is yet to win after four games in the third division -- again spoiled Hamburg's start to the season.

The home team played with 10 men for more than 70 minutes after defender Marcel Appiah was sent off for a foul on Bobby...

Rani Khedira, brother of Sami, joins Augsburg from RB Leipzig

Rani Khedira made 10 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Augsburg have signed Rani Khedira, the younger brother of Juventus' Sami, on a free transfer from RB Leipzig.

Khedira, 23, just like his brother Sami, came through the ranks of Stuttgart's youth academy, and it was there the midfielder made his first appearance in Bundesliga in September 2013.

Following a total of nine appearances in the top flight, he joined Leipzig, then still in the second tier, the next summer. However, he failed to become a permanent fixture in the club's starting XI, especially...

Dortmund beat Eintracht Frankfurt with ease, Bayern held to draw

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored Dortmund's third goal against Eintracht.

Borussia Dortmund overcame a traumatic week to beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Dortmund, victims of an attack on their team bus before Tuesday's Champions League clash with Monaco, took just two minutes to open the scoring at Iduna Park through Marco Reus, who back-heeled the ball in following fine work in the box from Christian Pulisic.

Marco Fabian equalised inside the half-hour mark with a brilliant strike in off the top of the crossbar from 25 yards, but Sokratis...
