Everton unveil new home kit with Dixie Dean silhouette on back of collar

Everton revealed their home kit for the 2017-18 season on Tuesday night, with the traditional blue shirts featuring a tribute to legendary striker Dixie Dean in the form of a silhouette on the back of the collar.

The depiction of Dean, who is said to have run 2.5 miles from his home to sign his first contract with the club at 18, was chosen in a vote by supporters earlier this season.

That tradition was included in a video celebrating the passion of the club's players and supporters through its "Together Blue" campaign.

Ross Barkley, Leighton Baines and Tom Davies, as well as under-23 players Jonjoe Kenny and Joe Williams, appeared in the video and spoke about what Everton means to them. Phil Jagielka and Idrissa Gueye modelled the kit at the launch ceremony held at Goodison Park.

The shirt includes the classic Umbro diamond pattern running down the sleeves with a similar design in a blue panel on the side of the white shorts.

The only question now -- aside from the look of the away kit -- is whether the video will be the only appearance Barkley makes in the new shirt.
