Tottenham sign Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth on long-term contract

Tottenham have completed the signing of defender Juan Foyth from Estudiantes on a five-year deal until 2022.

The Argentina under-20 international will cost around £10 million and is Tottenham's third signing of the summer following deals for centre-half Davinson Sanchez from Ajax and Southampton goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.

Foyth, 19, is expected to be followed into Spurs by Paris Saint-Germain full-back Serge Aurier, with the Ivory Coast international closing in on a move to the Premier League...

TANGIER, Morocco -- Estudiantes chairman Juan Sebastian Veron has confirmed that a deal is in place for defender Juan Foyth to join Paris Saint-Germain for a fee in excess of €10 million.

Foyth, 19, had been a target for Tottenham Hotspur for some time and Mauricio Pochettino's men initially led the chase for his signature but Veron has revealed PSG are on the verge of signing the Under-20 Argentina international ahead of Spurs.

Promising Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth has said he would like to play in Europe but denied he has made any contact with Tottenham Hotspur about a potential move, the defender told Radio Continental.

Foyth, 19, has made seven appearances for the Argentine club, represented Argentina at the Under-20 World Cup earlier this year.

And while he admitted he would like to ply his trade overseas someday, he admitted any Spurs links were just rumours.
