Another double from Kevin Smith helped East Fife cruise past Elgin 3-1.

The forward made it 10 for the campaign with a brace last time out at Berwick and he picked up where he left off with a goal in the 35th minute for the second successive week - this time a close-range finish into the bottom corner.

And he could have doubled their lead before the break only to head over the crossbar from inside the six-yard box.

The 28-year-old then grabbed his second on the hour mark with a right-footed finish after...

A Peter Weatherson hat-trick earned Annan a thrilling 5-4 victory over Elgin despite Darryl McHardy also grabbing a treble.

Six goals came in action-packed first-half, with Jamie Duff opening the scoring before Andrew Mitchell pulled level five minutes later.

Junior Ogen made it two in as many minutes as he fired in left-footed to make it 2-1 to the visitors after 22 minutes.

McHardy capped off a mad 10 minutes with his first of the day to equalise but Annan again took the lead shortly before the break...

Elgin missed the chance to move into the play-off places as they were beaten 2-1 at bottom-club Montrose.

Darryl McHardy cancelled out Jordan Allan's opener, but Graham Webster's second-half strike earned the hosts, who will end the campaign bottom of the Scottish Football League, back-to-back victories for the first time since September.

Montrose went ahead in the 33rd minute as Allan tucked in after the visitors failed to deal with Scott Johnston's corner.

The lead lasted just four minutes as Elgin...

Two goals in 11 second-half minutes saw Elgin run out 2-1 winners and cut the gap on Arbroath in the play-off hunt.

The visitors were six points clear of the Black and Whites heading into this clash and took the lead in the 58th minute when Robert Linn struck a left-footed effort into the bottom-right corner.

But Arbroath had not won since March 14 and their lead lasted just four minutes, Craig Gunn pouncing from six yards for his fourth goal in his last three outings.

And the comeback was complete...

Play-off chasing Elgin and East Stirling had to settle for a point apiece after a goalless draw at Borough Briggs.

Jamie Reid had an early chance for the hosts but his shot was well-held by Richard Barnard.

Moments later City goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw was called into action to keep out a fierce drive from David Bates.

Shane Sutherland was twice off target for Elgin when well-placed in the area before Barnard denied Archie MacPhee and Craig Gunn.

After the break Sutherland and Darryl McHardy put headers...
