Former Brentford boss Martin Allen's return to his old club ended in disappointment as the Bees cruised into the FA Cup fourth round with a 5-1 rout of his Eastleigh side.

Two debut goals from rookie left-back Tom Field added to a Yoann Barbet penalty and strikes from Lasse Vibe and Romaine Sawyers, all in the first half, made it a comfortable afternoon for the Bees.

The only consolation for Allen was when big centre-back Ayo Obileye gave his National League side a brief foothold in the game after...

Mikael Mandron was the hero for Eastleigh as his last-minute strike ensured a 3-3 draw with FC Halifax in the Emirates FA Cup.

The National League North side had found themselves 1-0 down at half time, Mandron scoring the first goal of the Martin Allen era at Eastleigh after 18 minutes.

But the game was turned on its head in the second half with four goals in the space of 22 minutes.

First the impressive Jordan Sinnott drew the Shaymen level, firing a low shot past Eastleigh goalkeeper Ryan Huddart...

Martin Allen leaves Barnet to manage Eastleigh

Martin Allen has left Barnet to become the new manager of National League side Eastleigh, the League Two club has announced.

The Bees revealed that Eastleigh made an approach for the 51-year-old on Wednesday following the departure of Ronnie Moore on the same day due to "personal circumstances."

Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous told the club's website: "Martin has asked to be released from his contract so he can join Eastleigh.

"The approach came out of the blue [on Wednesday] but it was quite clear...

Non-league Eastleigh knock out Swindon Town in FA Cup first round

Swindon director Tim Sherwood came out of the stands but could not spark his club in the FA Cup.

Eastleigh produced an FA Cup first-round shock by dumping out League One Swindon Town after a 3-1 win in their replay at the County Ground.

The National League side took a ninth-minute lead through Jai Reason and never looked back with Andy Drury doubling their lead before the break and Mikael Mandron's 74th-minute penalty making sure, with Nathan Delfouneso scoring a consolation.

Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham manager who was hired as Swindon's director of football last week, made the...

Michael Doughty's penalty spared Swindon's blushes as they avoided an FA Cup first-round upset with a 1-1 draw at Eastleigh.

Mikael Mandron's 64th-minute header from a Jake Howells free-kick had looked like securing the National League club's progress, in an even game despite there being two leagues between the sides.

But on-loan QPR midfielder Doughty slotted his spot-kick five minutes later, after being fouled by home keeper Ryan Clarke, to take the tie back to the County Ground.

Ronnie Moore's non-leaguers...
