Faissal El Bakhtaoui scored his second goal in as many matches as Dunfermline climbed to the top of the Scottish League One table with a 1-0 victory over Ayr.

Gozie Ugwu thought he had put the home side into the lead before his shot was well blocked by Stewart Greacen. It was the best chance of a goalless first half.

The Pars took the lead after 54 minutes when Ryan Thomson headed home Josh Falkingham's cross following increased pressure from the home side.

Josh Watt missed a good chance to put the visitors level, firing...

A second-half strike from Michael Moffat sealed victory for Dunfermline in a bad tempered 2-1 win over Stranraer as both sides finished with 10 men.

The away side started strongly and were rewarded after just five minutes when Gozie Ugwu stabbed home from a free-kick for his third goal in two league games.

But things went sour for the Pars after 35 minutes when defender Ross Millen was shown a straight red after he brought down Jackson Longridge. New signing William Gibson made things worse when he...

A double from substitute Ross Caldwell took some of the heat off under-pressure St Mirren boss Tommy Craig, earning them a 2-1 win over Dunfermline in the second round of the Scottish League Cup.

The hosts created the first real opportunity when Gregg Wylde sent over a left wing cross into a dangerous area but Steven Thompson was inches away from getting the vital touch.

However, it was the Pars who grabbed the lead in the ninth minute after the Saints defence failed to clear a Josh Falkingham free-kick...
