Falkirk apologise after fans throw fake eyes at Dunfermline's Dean Shiels

Falkirk have apologised and vowed to take action after some of their fans threw fake eyes towards Dunfermline midfielder Dean Shiels during Tuesday's Championship derby.

Shiels was already the centre of attention in the East End Park encounter, with Falkirk still missing the suspended Joe McKee and Kevin O'Hara after the pair were handed a combined 12-match ban by the Scottish Football Association after being found guilty of taunting Shiels over the loss of an eye.

But the former Rangers and Hibernian...

Goals in each half from Nicky Clark and Declan McManus eased Dunfermline to a 2-0 Ladbrokes Championship victory over Falkirk.

Clark's 16th-minute strike was fumbled over the line by Robbie Mutch and debutant Lee Robinson made a good stop from Louis Longridge to preserve the hosts' lead just before the break.

McManus fired home within five minutes of the restart after good skill from Joe Cardle, who later hit a post as Dunfermline enjoyed a derby triumph in front of 7,140 fans at East End Park.

Falkirk's Kevin O'Hara gets 8-game ban for insulting Dean Shiels' missing eye

Dean Shiels had his right eye removed in 2006.

The Scottish FA has banned Falkirk's Kevin O'Hara for eight matches for making fun of an opponent who is missing an eye.

O'Hara was handed the suspension for "excessive misconduct" during a match against Dunfermline on Oct. 7 in the Scottish Challenge Cup.

O'Hara reportedly insulted Dunfermline player Dean Shiels for his missing eye during the match.

Shiels reportedly lost sight in his right eye as a child. He later had it removed in 2006.

Falkirk said in a statement that "the club take note of...

Rangers roared into the Betfred Cup quarterfinals with thumping 6-0 win over Dunfermline at Ibrox.

Kenny Miller opened the scoring in the fifth minute of a whirlwind start before defender Bruno Alves and striker Alfredo Morelos both scored their first goals in Light Blue and there was only 26 minutes gone when defender James Tavernier added a fourth.

The home side relaxed for a spell but Portuguese attacker Daniel Candeias fired in a free kick in the 56th minute to record his first goal for the...

Thomas Mikkelsen's first-half goal lifted Dundee United to a 1-0 victory over Dunfermline and into third place in the Scottish Championship.

Simon Murray had the first real opportunity, sending his shot into the side netting, but he was the provider as the Tangerines went ahead on the half hour, sending in a low ball from the right that Mikkelsen put away from close range.

Murray had an excellent opportunity to swell the home side's lead just before half-time when the ball dropped to him off a deflection...
