Cambridge relied on three goals in extra time to secure a dramatic 4-2 win at Dover which has set up an FA Cup second-round tie against Coventry.

Leon Legge, Medy Elito and Ben Williamson all scored for Cambridge in extra time to break Dover hearts after the non-league club had twice led on the night.

Cambridge started in assured fashion and could have been ahead in the 19th minute when Luke Berry fired a low shot against the post before Richard Orlu cleared off the line.

Ricky Miller grabbed a late equaliser as National League side Dover earned an FA Cup replay with a 1-1 draw at Cambridge.

Miller turned the ball home from close range after Ross Lafayette's cross from the left fell to him eight minutes from time, having earlier been denied by a low save from Will Norris.

Dover almost took an early lead through Lafayette, who ran on to Mitch Walker's long clearance and fired a shot which was deflected just wide.

Alan Pardew hoping for Crystal Palace to go on lengthy FA Cup run

Crystal Palace enjoyed a comfortable afternoon at Dover.

Alan Pardew believes an extended FA Cup run can breed a "winning mentality" to aid Crystal Palace in their Premier League relegation battle.

New boss Pardew took charge of Palace for the first time after leaving Newcastle in Sunday's 4-0 FA Cup third-round victory away at Conference side Dover.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley refused to view cup progress as a priority during Pardew's four years on Tyneside, but the former Eagles midfielder is now keen for Palace to fight on all fronts.

Scott Dann scored twice for Crystal Palace as they beat Dover 4-0.

Scott Dann, Dwight Gayle and Kevin Doyle ensured Alan Pardew was given a winning start to life as Crystal Palace manager as the Eagles avoided FA Cup third-round embarrassment at Dover.

Pardew -- finally announced as Neil Warnock's replacement on Saturday -- was in the dugout at the Crabble and was able to preside over a 4-0 win against the Conference side.

Centre-half Dann tucked away two first-half goals to stave off any threat of a shock and Gayle added a third to put the result beyond doubt,...

'Alan Pardew can't change Palace in two days' says Dover boss

Alan Pardew "cannot change Crystal Palace in two days", according to Dover boss Chris Kinnear.

Conference club Dover host Palace in Sunday's FA Cup third-round tie, aiming to ruin new manager Pardew's first match at the Eagles helm.

Pardew had a hand in Palace training on Friday before finally completing his move from Newcastle in time to coach Saturday's last session before the Dover trip.

Dover will make club history if they reach the fourth round, and manager Kinnear believes Pardew's arrival...
