Fleetwood remain unbeaten at Highbury in Sky Bet League One this season following a 3-1 win against Doncaster.

The home side took just 11 minutes to grab the lead through Stephen Dobbie, who swept home David Ball's cross after Gareth Evans had robbed Harry Forrester deep inside Doncaster territory.

Fleetwood's bubble was quickly burst when Nathan Tyson, who spent a spell on loan at Highbury last season, found space to shoot and his deflected 20-yard effort wrong-footed Fleetwood goalkeeper Chris Maxwell.

Doncaster marched into the third round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a 3-0 victory at Burton, leaving their hosts still without a win in the competition after six years of trying.

The Brewers, who received a first-round bye, failed to recover after conceding first-half goals to Harry Forrester and Nathan Tyson.

The League Two side had early chances but Alex MacDonald's fierce drive was beaten out by Rovers keeper Jed Steer before Dominic Knowles ballooned over from 18 yards.

Doncaster fought back from behind for a 2-1 derby success at Scunthorpe, only their second win in the last seven games.

They started brightly against the struggling home side with Richie Wellens and Nathan Tyson both testing keeper Bobby Olejnik.

Scunthorpe then settled and only a flying save from Jed Steer prevented leading marksman Paddy Madden firing the home side in front.

Scunthorpe did take the lead in the 23rd minute when striker Rory Fallon made it a home debut to remember firing a left-footed...

Walsall midfielder James Baxendale put the skids under his old club in an impressive 3-0 over Doncaster.

Baxendale scored the brilliant opening goal and had a big hand in the second as the Saddlers recorded their second successive home win with another three goals.

Defences were on top for most of the first half, Tom Bradshaw having a shot charged down for the Saddlers and Rovers' Harry Forrester hammering an effort well off target in the 16th minute.

Rovers had to replace keeper Jed Steer with Marko...

Kit Symons boosted his chances of becoming the big cheese at Craven Cottage as Fulham beat Doncaster 2-1 in the Capital One Cup.

Symons has been placed in caretaker charge as the Whites attempt to get themselves out of the pickle Felix Magath left them in.

And first-half crackers from Bryan Ruiz and Dan Burn were enough to secure only a second win of the season for the Sky Bet Championship's bottom club - the first also coming in this competition - and send them into round four.

They still had to survive...
