Yevhen Konoplyanka agrees to join Sevilla subject to medical

Ukraine international Yevhen Konoplyanka caught the eye of a number of top clubs while at Dnipro.

Sevilla are on the verge of signing Ukraine winger Yevhen Konoplyanka from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, rescuing a deal which was initially thought to have collapsed.

Europa League champions Sevilla, who beat Dnipro in last season's final, had announced several days ago they had pulled out of the race to sign the 25-year-old.

But the Andalusian outfit has now reached an agreement with Konoplyanka to join the team on a permanent transfer, with the winger poised to sign a four-year contract.

Yevhen Konoplyanka is reported to be attracting interest from Stoke and Newcastle.

Sevilla have pulled out of the race to sign Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka this summer.

The Europa League winners were hoping to lure Konoplyanka, who is a free agent this summer, to the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, but negotiations have proved unsuccessful.

The Ukraine international has been strongly linked with a move to Stoke, while the Daily Mirror has reported that Newcastle are also in the race to sign the 25-year-old.

UEFA opens disciplinary case against Dnipro for fans' behaviour

The fans of Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk took to the pitch and celebrated in style alongside their team after the Ukraine side booked their spot in the UEFA Europa League final with a 2-1 aggregate win over Napoli.

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Ukrainian team Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk for racist behavior by their fans and several other offences during their Europa League semifinal against Napoli on Thursday.

Dnipro's fans celebrated after the club defeated Napoli 1-0 in Kiev to reach their first European final.
