South Korea's World Cup hopes dented by Kwon Chang-hoon's Achilles injury

The ESPN FC panel discuss Group F, which contains Germany, Mexico, Sweden and South Korea.
Ian Darke leads the ESPN panel in predicting the 2018 World Cup winner with names of Germany, Brazil, France and England among the list.

South Korea's World Cup hopes suffered a major blow on Saturday as star midfielder Kwon Chang-hoon sustained an Achilles injury that is set to rule the 23 year-old out of the tournament.

With 14 minutes remaining in the final game of the French campaign, Kwon, Korea's most in-form player with 11 goals for Dijon FCO this season, limped off the pitch against Angers.

The exact nature of the injury has yet to be determined but in a statement released by Dijon, the club said it is "probably a rupture...

Dimitri Payet saw a penalty saved in stoppage time before then converting another spot-kick as Marseille closed the gap on second-placed Monaco with a 3-1 win at Dijon.

After a slow start at Stade Gaston-Gerard, Marseille took the lead in the 36th minutes through a close-range finish from Valere Germain.

The visitors were forced to make a change in the 57th minute when goalkeeper Steve Mandanda hobbled off and was replaced by Yohann Pele.

Mario Balotelli racial abuse case against Dijon dropped by French league

Nice's Mario Balotelli
Mario Balotelli said he had been racially abused by fans at Dijon.

The French Football League (LFP) will take no action over Nice striker Mario Balotelli's claims that he was racially abused by Dijon fans last month.

Balotelli was booked for a gesture towards Dijon supporters during his team's 3-2 defeat last month.

During the game, he told referee Nicolas Rainville that monkey chants had been directed at him, repeating the claim to members of the Nice delegation after the final whistle.

Rainville said he would not have shown the former Manchester City and Liverpool...

Troyes and Dijon played out a goalless draw which lifts both teams slightly further clear of the Ligue 1 relegation zone.

Dijon had the better chances of a largely uneventful first half, with Mehdi Abeid failing to control Naim Sliti's dangerous cross and defender Christophe Herelle denying Julio Tavares on the stroke of half-time.

The hosts took charge in the final half-hour, with Bryan Pele denied by Baptiste Reynet and Samuel Grandsir's effort cleared off the line by forward Tavares, though Dijon...

Anti-racism group reports abuse of Mario Balotelli at Dijon to police

Nice's Mario Balotelli said he was racially abused during a game at Dijon.

A French anti-racism organisation has complained to police over racist abuse of Nice striker Mario Balotelli in the recent league game at Dijon.

The Representative Council of Black Associations (CRAN) filed a complaint against "persons unknown" after Balotelli said he had been the target of monkey chants during the match earlier this month.

Dijon's Regional Court "indicated it will deal with the complaint quickly", L'Equipe reported on Tuesday.

The French Football League's (LFP) Disciplinary Commission...
