Deportivo La Coruna's nightmare week suffered a fittingly miserable end as they went down to a stoppage-time goal at home to Almeria.

Having lost 8-2 to Real Madrid at the Riazor last weekend and then suffered a 2-1 derby defeat at arch-rivals Celta Vigo in midweek, Depor would have been desperate to pick up something from the visit of seemingly easier opponents.

And that looked set to be the case with the match apparently headed for goalless draw - only for Almeria to snatch a 1-0 victory through...

Carlo Ancelotti wants 'balanced' Real Madrid despite Deportivo destruction

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a superb header to open the scoring for Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti claimed to still not be completely happy with his Real Madrid side after Saturday's 8-2 La Liga dismantling of Deportivo La Coruna.

- Hernandez rues 'tough year' at Manchester United

Madrid took almost half an hour to break the deadlock but were 3-0 up by half-time, with Cristiano Ronaldo netting twice and James Rodriguez also on the scoresheet.

Depor netted twice in the second half from a Haris Medunjanin penalty and Toche header, but saw Gareth Bale grab a quick-fire double, Ronaldo...

It hasn't exactly been the most auspicious of starts from Real Madrid this season, but Los Blancos definitely got the job done against Deportivo de La Coruna.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat trick while Gareth Bale and Javier Hernandez both netted twice as Real Madrid thrashed Deportivo La Coruna 8-2 at Riazor.
