Luis Alberto leaves Liverpool for loan at Deportivo La Coruna

Luis Alberto spent last season on loan at Malaga.

Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto has joined Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna on a season's loan.

At that point, Deportivo looked sure to be relegated -- but goals from Lucas Perez and Diogo Salomao salvaged a crucial 2-2 draw for the Galicians.

Captain Alberto Lopo subsequently said that,...

Spanish court releases four suspects in death of Deportivo fan

The death of a rival fan ahead of Atletico Madrid's match with Deportivo la Coruna marred their 2-0 win.

MADRID -- A Spanish court has released four suspects in the death of a fan following a brutal street fight between rival "ultra" groups in the Spanish capital in November.

Madrid's Court No. 20 says the judge released the four men after "statements by two witnesses created more than reasonable doubts about their direct participation in the acts that caused the death."

The court says the four were still charged for having participated in the large fight before the Atletico Madrid and Deportivo La...
