Pep Guardiola hails resilient Bayern side for peforming despite injuries

Pep Guardiola expressed his pride with his remaining Bayern Munich players after the injury-hit club saw off Darmstadt 1-0 in the DFB Pokal round of 16 on Tuesday.

Only five substitutes suited up for Bayern, who have been depleted by injuries to the likes of Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa, Franck Ribery, Mario Gotze, Juan Bernat, David Alaba and Medhi Benatia.

And Guardiola hailed the resiliency of his side, who have one Bundesliga game left before the long winter break.

Darmstadt have followed Ingolstadt in earning promotion to the Bundesliga after a dramatic final day of action in the 2. Bundesliga.

Midway through the second half at the Stadion am Bollenfalltor, Darmstadt were as low as fourth in the standings and not even on course for a playoff berth.

However, a Tobias Kempe goal in the 71st minute of their game against St Pauli earned them the win they needed to march straight through the second division in their first season since promotion from the third...
