Defender Sean Kavanagh remains a doubt for Hartlepool's home clash with Crewe.

The on-loan Fulham full-back missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Colchester with a hamstring problem and will be assessed. Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett is struggling with a groin problem, so Ben Dudzinski is likely to keep a place on the bench.

Matthew Bates is out with a hamstring injury, fellow defender Carl Magnay (cruciate ligament injury) remains a few weeks away from a return, while Rob Jones (knee) and Trevor Carson (shoulder)...

Stevenage held on for a 2-1 win at Crewe in a game which saw visiting goalkeeper Jamie Jones and Alex striker Chris Dagnall sent off.

Jones and Dagnall were dismissed after an unseemly first-half tussle. Dagnall chased a through ball but caught Jones, with both players ending up sprawled in combat on the edge of the box.

Dagnall was shown two yellow cards by referee Darren England, while the injured Jones was issued a straight red and carried off on a stretcher.

Oliver Turton grabbed a late equaliser for Crewe Alexandra as they came from two down to draw 2-2 with Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Crewe started brightly but Blackpool struck after eight minutes when Brad Potts crossed for Nathan Delfouneso, who headed past Ben Garratt from six yards.

But Garratt was on hand two minutes later to prevent Blackpool doubling the lead as he denied Kyle Vassell from close range.

The Seasiders were two to the good after 27 minutes, as the ball broke to centre-back Tom Aldred...

James Jones struck a late penalty as rejuvenated Crewe made it back-to-back wins with a 2-1 victory over Sky Bet League Two play-off hopefuls Wycombe.

Adebayo Akinfenwa's 76th-minute strike appeared to have salvaged a point for the Chairboys after the striker's 12th goal of the season cancelled out Chris Dagnall's first-half opener.

But James' penalty three minutes from time secured the spoils for Crewe, who look a different proposition to the side which had limped on for 11 games without a win before...

Crewe were ruthless in front of goal as they won for the first time in 12 games with a 5-0 Sky Bet League Two demolition of Grimsby.

Dave Artell picked up his first win as the Railwaymen's boss to ease the club's relegation fears.

George Cooper and Chris Dagnall both hit a brace to sweep the strugglers into a four-goal lead before the half-hour mark.

Cooper tucked the ball past James McKeown from the tightest of angles to give his side a flying start in the second minute.

Grimsby responded with Jamey...
