Marc McNulty fired Coventry back into the Sky Bet League Two play-off spots with the decisive goal in a 2-1 win over Cheltenham.

The Sky Blues have seen their promotion push falter in recent weeks, with just one league win in their last five, but they got back to winning ways at the Ricoh Arena courtesy of McNulty's fourth goal in five games.

Tom Bayliss got the hosts off to the perfect start with the opening goal after two minutes, only for Mohamed Eisa to cancel out his effort before the break.

Morecambe produced a fine performance to come away with a shock 2-0 victory over high-flying Coventry at the Globe Arena.

Goals in each half from Vadaine Oliver and a first Football League goal for Callum Lang gave Jim Bentley's side three vital points.

Morecambe dominated the first half with Oliver and Andy Fleming both having shots cleared off the line before they took a deserved lead in the 36th minute.

Michael Rose swung in a free-kick from the right-hand side and Oliver nipped in front of his marker...

A stunning strike from Marc McNulty helped Coventry to a comfortable 3-0 FA Cup victory against Boreham Wood.

The National League outfit were playing in only their third second-round clash - their joint best run in the competition.

A tasty third-round clash against a Premier League giant was high in the thoughts, with chairman Danny Hunter saying "I can picture how Coventry City will feel when we knock them out" in the build-up to the game.

That gave Mark Robins' men an added incentive and a thoroughly...

Coventry failed to take full advantage of other results around them in the race for the Sky Bet League Two play-offs as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Crawley.

Town, who had gone seven games without a win before Tuesday, toppled high-flyers Exeter in midweek and almost did the same to the Sky Blues.

Mark Robins' side could have gone two points clear of Mansfield in eighth with victory after the Stags drew with Chesterfield in the early kick-off.

Youngster Jordan Roberts struck for the visitors to the...

Former Nigeria striker Yakubu calls it a day

Former Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni has announced his retirement from football.

The 35-year-old, who spent a decade playing in England for the likes of Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, Everton, Leicester City, Blackburn Rovers and Reading, has been without a club since leaving Coventry City after just three games in April.

"I would like to officially announce my retirement from professional football today," he told SkySports.

"Firstly, I would like to thank God for the career I have had. I...
