Coventry were back to their thrilling best as they thrashed Bury 6-0 at the Ricoh Arena.

The Sky Blues had the three points wrapped up by half-time after flying into a four-goal lead before the break.

Chris Stokes volleyed the first in the fourth minute as he latched onto Joe Cole's corner.

Baily Cargill fired his first goal for Coventry in the 12th minute from close range after another set-piece delivery from Cole.

It got even better for the home team in the 16th minute when they took a quick free-kick...

Port Vale substitute Sam Kelly rifled a brilliant equaliser seven minutes from time to earn his team a richly deserved point in an entertaining 1-1 home draw against Coventry.

The home side made the early running against a nervous visiting defence with Reice Charles-Cook saving from Ajay Leitch-Smith and Theo Robinson.

And the Coventry 'keeper saved his team again in the 29th minute after the lively Leitch-Smith broke free from Robinson's pass to fire a low shot from 14 yards.

Norwich sign James Maddison from Coventry at deadline

James Maddison will stay at Coventry for the rest of the season.

Norwich have signed midfielder James Maddison from Coventry, with the midfielder remaining at the Ricoh Arena until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has moved for an undisclosed fee and agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Carrow Road, with an option for a further year.

Canaries boss Alex Neil told his club's official website: "We're delighted to sign James as he is a fantastic prospect who has already made a mark at Coventry at such a young age.

Scunthorpe made it back-to-back victories under their caretaker managers as they clinched a 2-1 win at Coventry.

Nick Daws and Andy Dawson presided over last week's comfortable win over Colchester after Mark Robins' departure and they were sent on their way to victory again thanks to Tom Hopper's ninth-minute strike.

The Scunthorpe striker latched on to a loose ball in the box and hammered home from 10 yards.

The visitors could have had more in a first half littered with errors. Peter Ramage's slip...

Tyrone Barnett bagged a brace as Southend United surged to a 3-0 win against Coventry City at Roots Hall.

Barnett's double came after Jack Payne had fired the Shrimpers in front.

And Phil Brown's side were able to get back to winning ways despite playing the final 39 minutes of the match with 10 men after Gary Deegan was dismissed.

Coventry came close to opening the scoring early on when Jim O'Brien's long-range effort was tipped onto the crossbar by Southend United goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.

But Southend...
