Former Valencia boss Miroslav Djukic has replaced Albert Ferrer as the head coach of struggling Primera Division club Cordoba.

A club statement confirmed that the Serbian tactician, 48, will meet his new players on Tuesday morning after signing a deal running to the end of the season with the Andalusian outfit.

Malaga kept Cordoba waiting for their first Primera Division win of the season with a comfortable 2-1 away win on Saturday.

First-half goals from Samu and Nordin Amrabat with a penalty lifted Malaga up to seventh and kept their opponents in the bottom three.

Baba Diawara's 89th-minute equaliser earned Getafe a 1-1 draw and denied Cordoba a first win of the Primera Division season on Friday night.

Diawara poked home to cancel out Patrick Ekeng Ekeng's opener in the 78th minute as an otherwise poor match finished in dramatic fashion.

Getafe could even have won it at the death, but were denied by the woodwork for the second time in the game.

The draw means Cordoba are still looking for their first league win seven games into the new campaign, while their opponents...

Cordoba remain bottom of the Primera Division and still without a win in their return to the top flight after being held to a goalless draw at home to Espanyol.

The hosts showed more ambition to win the game than Sergio Gonzalez's side but only managed four attempts on Kiko Casilla's goal, and on each occasion the goalkeeper was up to the task.

Albert Ferrer made five changes to the team that was beaten 3-0 by Valencia in midweek and could once again count on the flair of Fede Cartabia, who was unable...

Valencia climbed to the top of the Primera Division after Paco Alcacer set them on the way to a comfortable win over Cordoba at the Mestalla.

Alcacer headed the hosts in front midway through the first half, and Jose Luis Gaya doubled the lead four minutes later with a low shot from inside the area.

Sofiane Feghouli rounded off a fine individual performance by scoring the third goal of the night in the second half.

Valencia have now won four games in succession and have match the points tallies of Barcelona...
