Toronto suffers late loss at Revolution; D.C.'s Patrick Mullins scores four goals

Kei Kamara proved the winner in New England and Toronto's late back-and-forth goal exchange.

Toronto FC missed a chance to secure the MLS Supporters' Shield on Saturday, falling 2-1 to the New England Revolution.

Needing a victory to claim the trophy for best regular-season record for the first time in club history, Toronto quickly answered New England's 82nd-minute opener, only for Kei Kamara to net the winner in the 87th.

With Toronto again resting stars Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore, it was largely a drab affair until Lee Nguyen found the breakthrough with a deflected shot for...

Timbers beat NYCFC to go top in West; Jozy Altidore lifts Toronto by San Jose

Diego Valeri was the only player to etch his name on the score-sheet, with the Timbers winning away to a hostile NYCFC crowd.

Diego Valeri scored for the seventh straight game to match the MLS record and help the Portland Timbers move to the top of the Western Conference with a 1-0 win at New York City FC on Saturday.

The only goal came just before halftime when Darren Mattocks dispossessed Andrea Pirlo deep in his own zone -- leaving the Italy legend calling for a foul that never came -- and fed Valeri in the center of the box.

Valeri took his goal tally on the season to 17, level with Chicago's Nemanja Nikolic...

Bastian Schweinsteiger goal lifts Fire; Revs win with Kei Kamara hat trick

The Chicago Fire earned three huge points on the road to a conference rival thanks to Bastian Schweinsteiger's lone goal.

Bastian Schweinsteiger scored his first goal since April to help the Chicago Fire beat the 10-man Montreal Impact on Saturday night.

The Fire went up a man in the 53rd minute when Deian Boldor was shown a red card following a video review for a late, studs-up challenge on Schweinsteiger.

And the former Germany star got his revenge six minutes when he slammed home a first-timed shot from Matt Polster's cross.

However, Schweinsteiger later limped out of the game while grabbing his quad...

Tim Howard tries to put aside Colorado Rapids' woes while on U.S. duty

Real Salt Lake asserted their dominance over rivals Colorado, hitting them for four goals to retain the Rocky Mountain Cup.
Adrian Healey and Taylor Twellman reveal and discuss the U.S. team to face Costa Rica and Honduras in World Cup qualifying.
Bruce Arena says he's confident all 26 U.S. players in his latest squad can make an impact against Costa Rica and Honduras.
As qualifying winds down, Bruce Arena says the U.S. are still a long way from Russia, but hopes experience helps his team.

Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Tim Howard will try to put his club's woes behind him as he joins up with the United States squad this week.

The Rapids have the lowest point total in MLS and are enduring an eight-game winless streak, though their anemic attack has been more to blame than the defence.

But Howard, who was named to Bruce Arena's U.S. squad for World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras, said international duty is a different situation.

"I always look forward to going to the national...
