Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane, Michael Bradley all out of MLS All-Star Game

Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane will not be able to play on Wednesday.

LA Galaxy stars Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane have been ruled out of the MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday with injuries, while United States captain Michael Bradley will also miss the match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Gerrard was named to the team alongside New York City FC's Frank Lampard despite them just joining their teams this month, but now neither of the former England stars will be able to play.

Keane made over 200 appearances for Tottenham in two stints from 2002-2008 and 2009-2011, and...

Kei Kamara, Sebastian Giovinco named to MLS All-Star gameday squad

ESPN FC's Alejandro Moreno is at odds as to why Sebastian Giovinco was left off the MLS All Start XI.
ESPN FC's Dan Thomas plays a cruel prank on Kei Kamara that Giovani dos Santos was chosen to play in the MLS All Star game over the Columbus Crew striker.

Major League Soccer's top two scorers Kei Kamara and Sebastian Giovinco were among those selected to the MLS All-Star Game gameday squad on Saturday.

Neither player had been voted to the Fan XI last week, but they were chosen to play by coach Pablo Mastroeni.

Kamara, of the Columbus Crew, has 13 goals, while Toronto FC's Giovinco scored his 12th on Saturday.

Red Bulls strike early and often to rout Revolution; Fire stun Sounders

Two goals from Bradley Wright-Phillips paved the way for the New York Red Bulls in their comfortable 4-1 win over the New England Revolution.

Bradley Wright-Phillips had two goals and an assist in the first 12 minutes, and the New York Red Bulls beat the sliding New England Revolution 4-1 on Saturday night.

Wright-Phillips headed home Lloyd Sam's cross in the fourth minute, and then helped set up Sam's low hard finish into the left corner five minutes later. Wright-Phillips capped the flurry with a shot that looked much like Sam's goal, giving the Red Bulls a 3-0 lead.

It was Wright-Phillips' eighth multigoal game of his career.

Wondo fires San Jose past LA Galaxy, Whitecaps end Revolution's streak

The San Jose Earthquakes triumphed 3-1 over the LA Galaxy at Avaya Stadium courtesy of goals from Chris Wondolowski, Cordell Cato and Clarence Goodson.

Chris Wondolowski scored his ninth goal of the season as the San Jose Earthquakes beat the LA Galaxy 3-1 in the California Clasico.

Matias Perez Garcia added two assists for the Quakes, the first on a well-placed cross that Wondolowski smashed into the net in the 28th minute for a 1-all tie. Wondolowski moved alone into second place the MLS goal race, three behind Columbus' Kei Kamara.

Clarence Goodson gave San Jose the lead in the 53rd minute, heading home Perez Garcia's corner kick.

Cordell Cato...
