Chicago Fire beats New York Red Bulls, Rapids hit late winner vs. Dynamo

Chicago Fire were able to secure a 3-2 win over the New York Red Bulls at home with a late winner in the second half.

Kennedy Igboananike broke a tie in the 73rd minute with his second goal of the game and the Chicago Fire beat New York 3-2 on Wednesday night to end the Red Bulls' six-game undefeated streak.

New York has not won in Chicago since 2005.

After New York's Sacha Kljestan opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the 10th minute, Igboananike tied it in the 22nd for Chicago. He slotted Gilberto's through ball inside the far post.

Colorado Rapids sign former Hull and Wigan defender Maynor Figueroa

Maynor Figueroa, left, signed with the Colorado Rapids on Friday.

The Colorado Rapids signed Honduras international defender Maynor Figueroa on Friday, one of many changes made to their back line before the MLS transfer deadline.

Figueroa, 32, made 45 appearances for Hull City in the Premier League the past two seasons before the Tigers were relegated in May.

The Rapids used targeted allocation money to sign Figueroa, after trading general allocation money to Sporting Kansas City in exchange for an international roster spot.

"We have been tracking Maynor for some...

DC United beat RSL on record day for goals; NYCFC lose in Lampard's debut

DC United became the first team in MLS history to come back from two goals down in back to back games as they outlasted RSL in a 10-goal thriller.

Perry Kitchen broke a 4-4 tie in the 79th minute and DC United beat Real Salt Lake 6-4.

The 10 goals fell one short of the MLS single-game record.

Kitchen's header, off of a long service from Taylor Kemp, beat Jeff Attinella for the difference-maker. Nick Deleon's left-footed blast from way outside provided insurance six minutes later.

The teams combined for seven goals in the second half, one short of the record for most goals in a half.

Real Salt Lake jumped ahead 2-0 on goals by Joao Plata and...

Steven Gerrard, Robbie Keane, Michael Bradley all out of MLS All-Star Game

Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane will not be able to play on Wednesday.

LA Galaxy stars Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane have been ruled out of the MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday with injuries, while United States captain Michael Bradley will also miss the match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Gerrard was named to the team alongside New York City FC's Frank Lampard despite them just joining their teams this month, but now neither of the former England stars will be able to play.

Keane made over 200 appearances for Tottenham in two stints from 2002-2008 and 2009-2011, and...
