Pablo Mastroeni remembers the night that the Rocky Mountain Cup clash between the Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake came of age.

The date was Sept. 2, 2006, and the venue was RSL's old home, Rice-Eccles Stadium. At that time, MLS had issued an anti-prejudice/anti-harassment campaign called "Don't Cross the Line." According to Mastroeni, the message apparently didn't reach some segments of the RSL faithful.

"I was just getting killed by a couple of fans in the corner," said Mastroeni with a chuckle....

East-leading NYCFC beat LA Galaxy as Toronto FC wins to keep pace

LA Galaxy's first trip to Yankee Stadium was a forgettable one, as David Villa pushed NYCFC past the visitors.

David Villa scored an early goal and New York City FC held off the LA Galaxy to win 1-0 at Yankee Stadium on Saturday.

LA keeper Clement Diop got a piece of Ronald Matarrita's shot, but it still fell for Villa to score from close range in the sixth minute.

Villa nearly added a second goal in the first half but Diop stretched to deny him with a good save.

NYCFC keeper Josh Saunders was called into action before halftime to push away Nigel de Jong's bicycle kick.

Colorado Rapids' Jermaine Jones out vs. Orlando City with knee injury

Colorado Rapids midfielder Jermaine Jones talks about his transition into life with the Rapids and his incredible will to win.

Colorado Rapid midfielder Jermaine Jones will not be available for the team's upcoming game against Orlando City SC as he struggles to recover from injury. 

The 34-year-old United States international has missed the Rapids' past six games with a sprained knee suffered on July 4 against the Portland Timbers, and told reporters on Thursday he still needs more time to recuperate.

"It's getting better," Jones said. "But we talked to the doctors, the national team and the club about what we're going...
