Leaders Arbroath maintained their promotion push as they thrashed Clyde 4-0 at Gayfield Park.

Paul McManus gave them an early lead from the penalty spot after 16 minutes before Simon Murray fired home a second moments afterwards.

The visitors struggled to recover from the quick-fire double and only Stephen O'Donnell could offer a reply, firing wide from distance.

Victory was all but ensured three minutes before the break when Robert Linn added a third with a fine strike into the top corner.

East Stirling claimed a much-needed three points as they beat play-off hopefuls Clyde 1-0 in Scottish League Two.

Defender Brian McQueen inadvertently headed the ball into his own net with just six minutes on the clock to hand the visitors a shock early lead.

Midfielder David Greenhill flashed a shot over the bar a few minutes later for East Stirling before Euan Smith should have done better with a similar effort at the other end.

Defender Craig Halkett spurned a good chance after he found himself...

Clyde bounced back strongly from their bruising cup loss to Spartans with a commanding 3-0 victory against Montrose at Links Park.

The result lifted the Bully Wee above their opponents into the play-off places, and they took just 30 seconds to establish a lead they never looked like relinquishing.

Andy Gibson floated a free-kick into the box and Scott Ferguson powered in a header to give Clyde the ideal start.

Ferguson turned provider midway through the first half, as Euan Murray latched on to his incisive...

It was a case of poetry in Motion for Lowland League side Spartans as they created a Scottish Cup upset with a 2-0 win against Clyde at Ainslie Park.

Kevin Motion's penalty brace helped his side upset the odds, the first coming after just 14 minutes when Ryan Frances fouled Jack Beesley in the box.

The midfielder struck into the bottom left corner to give his side the advantage, and after a further hour of determined Spartans play netted the second goal that finished off Clyde's resistance.

Kevin Watt scored twice as Clyde recorded a first home league win of the season with a 2-1 success over Elgin.

The visitors remain rooted to the bottom of the Scottish League Two table after a late comeback fell short.

Watt opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark when he finished from six yards after being put through by Scott Durie.

At the other end Shane Sutherland saw his effort to draw level saved by Alan Martin.

Watt doubled the lead after an hour when he took advantage a mix up in the...
