Mathew Ryan named Australian PFA player of the year, creates history

Maty Ryan moved from Club Brugge to Spanish giants Valencia in July for a reported fee of £4.7 million.

Socceroos goalkeeper Mathew Ryan has made Australian football history by becoming the first player to win both the Professional Footballers Australia player of the year award and the Harry Kewell Medal in the same year.

Wayne Rooney hat trick ends Man United drought - 'I know my quality'

Club Brugge need 'great miracle' to oust Man Utd - Michel Preud'homme

Club Brugge need a "great miracle" to overcome Manchester United on Wednesday and advance to the Champions League group stage, says coach Michel Preud'homme.

The Belgian club must erase a 3-1 deficit in the second leg of the playoff round tie after last week's defeat at Old Trafford.

A Michael Carrick own goal had given Preud'homme's a shock early lead, but the joy was short-lived as Memphis Depay scored a brace, and a stoppage-time goal from Marouane Fellaini made United's lead comfortable.
