TORONTO -- Gilberto scored a goal and set up another in Toronto FC's 3-0 victory over Chivas USA on Sunday.

Jackson and Luke Moore also scored for Toronto (10-11-7). Toronto snapped a six-game (0-4-2) winless streak with its first victory since beating Columbus on Aug. 9.

Chivas (6-17-6) has lost six straight and is winless in 11 (0-10-1). It has been shut out in nine of its last 10 games.

Could shutting down Chivas USA be an option for MLS?

Dom Dwyer and his Sporting Kansas City teammates recorded a much-needed victory over troubled Chivas USA in California.

For MLS, the Promised Land is visible when it comes to problem child Chivas USA. How to get there is much harder to discern.

The league has stated that it expects to have new owners in place by the end of the season that will keep the team in Los Angeles. At which point, the club can expect to finally move on from the era of former owner Jorge Vergara that was characterized by mismanagement and lack of investment. A rebrand and a new stadium plan are sure to follow.

CARSON, Calif. -- Dominic Dwyer broke Kansas City's single-season scoring record with his 19th goal to help Sporting beat Chivas USA 4-0 on Friday night.

The previous club record was set by Preki in Kansas City's inaugural season of 1996. It was Dwyer's third goal in his last four games to get within two scores of New York's Bradley Wright-Phillips for the MLS lead.
