A hat-trick by Scott Kashket inspired League Two Wycombe to a 5-0 hammering of League One strugglers Chesterfield in their FA Cup second round tie at the Proact Stadium

Wycombe were better in every department and after Paul Hayes and Kashket gave them a two-goal lead at the interval, Chesterfield collapsed in the second half as Jon Nolan was shown a straight red card.

Wycombe looked sharper from the start and had a great chance in the 13th minute when a clever back heel by Adebayo Akinfenwa sent Kashket...

Chesterfield came from behind to hold on to the points in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers.

Jay O'Shea scored twice but substitute Billy Bodin notched 15 minutes from the end to force the Spireites to hold on and register back-to-back wins for the first time since August.

Rovers came out of the blocks rapidly and took the lead within three minutes when former Spireite Peter Hartley bundled in the ball from close range after a corner.

Darrell Clarke's side looked dominant and threatened to...

Danny Wilson's super subs Kristian Dennis and Dan Gardner sunk managerless MK Dons and lifted Chesterfield off the bottom of the Sky Bet League One table after a roller coaster second half.

Struggling Dons looked on course for victory when they struck twice in six second-half minutes. Daniel Powell (67) and substitute Ryan Colclough eased a night of mounting frustration in front of goal against the Spireites by edging the hosts 2-1 ahead after 73 minutes.

But defensive frailties enabled Wilson's men...

Chesterfield remain bottom of the Sky Bet League One table after Fleetwood's full-backs fired the Cod Army to a 2-1 win at Highbury.

Amari'i Bell, playing at left wing-back as Uwe Rosler fielded a back three, swept the hosts in front in the 27th minute following a smart turn and cross from David Ball.

Town had a number of chances to put the game to bed in the first half with centre-halves Cian Bolger and Ashley Eastham wasting free headers.

But substitute right wing-back Victor Nirennold diverted home...

Chesterfield chairman and director Dave Allen resigns both posts

Chesterfield chairman and director Dave Allen has resigned from both positions, the club have announced.

Allen had previously been Chesterfield chief executive but took over as chairman in 2012 to help the club out of financial difficulty.

Chesterfield finished top of League Two in 2011 and 2014 but currently sit bottom of League One, with only 12 points from 17 games.

Allen announced his decision to step down at the club's AGM on Monday.

He said: "At this point, I must inform you that as of now,...
