With the 2015-16 Premier League season beginning on Saturday, here's a look at some of the statistics that define the 20 clubs and their players, along with what some of those numbers might mean for the upcoming season. (Clubs are listed in alphabetical order.)
Arsenal's Mesut Ozil was frequently derided last season, his second with the Gunners. But he created a chance (that is: made a pass that led directly to a shot) every 28 minutes last season, the best rate in the league among the 168 players with at least 15 chances created. That came after he created a chance every 31 minutes in his first Arsenal season, so look for Ozil to again be one of the best playmakers in the league as Arsenal aims to improve upon last season's third-place finish.
