Eni Aluko 'disappointed' by lack of backing from England teammates

Speaking to a UK parliamentary committee, former England footballer Eni Aluko says that FA chief exec Martin Glenn asked her to write 'a statement saying the FA were not institutionally racist' in order to receive the 2nd part of her financial settlement

Eni Aluko has told the BBC she is "disappointed and surprised" by the lack of support she has received from England teammates over her allegations against former England Women manager Mark Sampson.

Aluko said Sampson had made a racially discriminatory remark to her in November 2014, which was eventually proven after three inquiries.

Sampson was also found to have used discriminatory language towards another England player, Drew Spence, and was sacked in September over a separate safeguarding matter.

Eni Aluko scored twice in her first match since appearing before a parliamentary committee hearing into the Football Association's handling of her complaints against former England Women boss Mark Sampson.

Aluko's goals came as Women's Super League leaders Chelsea thrashed bottom side Yeovil 6-0 at home.

Eleven days on from her appearance before the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport committee, Aluko scored the second and sixth goals in a win that extended Chelsea's 100 percent start in the league.

Chelsea Ladies win to claim first FA Women's Super League title

Chelsea Ladies celebrate with the trophy after winning their final match of the season on Sunday.

Chelsea Ladies clinched the FA Women's Super League title for the first time with a 4-0 home victory over Sunderland Ladies on the final day of the season.

England striker Fran Kirby scored twice in the convincing win, with Ji So-yun and Gemma Davison also on target, as Chelsea sealed the double, having won the Women's FA Cup in August.

Chelsea were guaranteed the title providing they won, as nearest rivals Manchester City Women were two points adrift heading into the closing round of games.

Ji So-Yun's goals in the semifinal and final lifted Chelsea to their first major honour.

Chelsea Ladies claimed the first major trophy in their history by defeating Notts County Ladies 1-0 in the SSE Women's FA Cup final at Wembley.

South Korean Ji So-Yun's goal eight minutes before half-time ensured Emma Hayes' side were victorious in front of a record attendance of 30,701 in north London.
