Charlton's new manager Guy Luzon made an impressive start as his side frustrated high-flying Wolves to pick up a valuable point in a 0-0 Sky Bet Championship stalemate at Molineux.

The draw ended a run of four successive league and cup defeats for Charlton and brought Wolves' surge up the table to a sudden halt.

Kenny Jackett's side had been searching for a fifth Championship win in a row but they could not find a way past a Charlton side who kept a clean sheet for the first time in nine league games.

Watford produced one of their better attacking displays of the season to put an abject Charlton to the sword in a 5-0 victory at Vicarage Road.

If anything, the margin of defeat flattered the visitors as the Hornets carved out a succession of opportunities and could easily have scored more goals had their finishing been better and Addicks goalkeeper Neil Etheridge not made some fine saves.

As it was, Charlton were effectively beaten by half-time after their opponents had opened up a three-goal lead...

Charlton confirm former Standard Liege manager Guy Luzon as boss

Guy Luzon during his final days at Standard Liege.

Charlton have named former Standard Liege manager Guy Luzon as their new head coach.

The 39-year-old replaces Bob Peeters, who was axed on Sunday following a poor run of results culminating in Saturday's 1-0 home defeat against Brighton.

Luzon, who has signed a deal until the end of next season, becomes the fourth boss Charlton have had since they were taken over by Belgian businessman Roland Duchatelet, who also owns Standard, just over a year ago.

He left the Belgian club in October amid huge...

Chris Hughton's first Championship fixture in charge of Brighton was decided 1-0 in his side's favour after Rohan Ince netted the only goal of the game.

The midfielder's header ended up shading a low-key encounter at the Valley against a Charlton side that lacked a cutting edge.

Hughton, sacked by Norwich at the tail end of last season, was hired to replace Sami Hyypia following the former Liverpool defender's pre-Christmas resignation.

He tasted victory at the first attempt as Albion won 2-0 at Brentford...

Blackburn ensured it was another happy Valley visit as they beat Charlton 2-1 in the FA Cup third round.

Blackburn's fourth win in their last six matches at Charlton's home was sealed as Chris Taylor scored twice, his second and third goals for Rovers as he made his 46th appearance since joining from Millwall - the home side's big rivals.

The hosts had drawn level through a Johann Gudmundsson free-kick early in the second half, but Taylor ensured that Blackburn were soon back in front, and the later...
