Lee Johnson watched from the stands as his new club Bristol City beat fellow Championship strugglers Charlton 1-0 thanks to a Lee Tomlin penalty at a blustery Valley.

On Saturday, Johnson was named as Steve Cotterill's replacement - after the former boss left the Robins last month - and will keep John Pemberton as his head coach after the stand-in boss guided City out of the bottom three in his last game in charge.

The away side went ahead from the penalty spot after 20 minutes when Bournemouth loanee...

Arsenal forward Yaya Sanogo has been recalled from his loan at Ajax and sent to Championship side Charlton for the rest of the season instead.

The 23-year-old Sanogo has made just four appearances for Ajax this season and will be looking for more playing time at Charlton, with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger still hoping the Frenchman can develop into a formidable striker.

A brace from striker Simon Makienok and one each from Igor Vetokele and Ademola Lookman was enough to ensure the Addicks went to within a point of Rotherham, and safety, in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Chris Burke had got Rotherham level before substitute Jonson Clarke-Harris blew their chances of getting back in the game by missing a penalty.

Charlton and Blackburn's winless Sky Bet Championship runs continued as the two strugglers battled out a 1-1 draw at The Valley.

Harry Lennon's deflected strike put the Addicks in front but they could not hold out until half-time, with Jordan Rhodes equalising in the 45th minute.

The home side had the edge in the opening stages, with a Tony Watt cross just too far in front of Igor Vetokele.

Watt, on his first game back since a loan spell at Cardiff, then teed-up Johann Gudmundsson, whose effort from...
