Belgian midfielder Yoni Buyens scored twice in the second half to help Charlton beat FA Cup semi-finalists Reading 3-2 at The Valley.

Substitute Simon Church netted a third for Charlton, who had been 1-0 down at the break after a sharp turn and crisp finish from Reading's Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak.

Pogrebnyak also added a late consolation but Reading, by then down to 10 men after Daniel Williams was sent off, could not find an equaliser.

The win moves Guy Luzon's Charlton to 11th in the Sky Bet...

Charlton made it four Sky Bet Championship wins in their last five games with a 3-0 victory over bottom side Blackpool at a deserted Bloomfield Road.

Simon Church's second-half strike doubled the visitors' lead after Chris Eagles had put them in front in the first period against his old club and Johann Berg Gudmundsson's third added insult to injury.

Blackpool are now without a win in their last 10 games and have lost their last six - taking their tally of defeats in the league to 24.

A clinical brace from Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes ensured all three points for his side with a 3-1 victory against a lacklustre Charlton at the Valley.

It was Blackburn's third victory of the season against the Addicks having already beaten them 2-0 at Ewood Park in the reverse fixture and 2-1 win in the FA Cup at the Valley in January.

Gary Bowyer's men have lost only one of their last nine games in all competitions, including a memorable draw against Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup last week.

Yoni Buyens' late penalty snatched a 2-1 win for Charlton Athletic at Cardiff City, keeping the Addicks' recent revival going.

Buyens struck in the 87th minute - after Sean Morrison clumsily bundled over Simon Church in the penalty area - to seal the victory shortly after Tony Watt cancelled out Federico Macheda's opening goal for the Bluebirds.

The win was Charlton's fifth in their last six games and put the brakes on Cardiff's return to form.

Nottingham Forest lost for the first time under new manager Dougie Freedman as Charlton shaded a tight encounter in which all three goals were scored in the first half.

Frederic Bulot struck both goals for mid-table Charlton, netting in the seventh and 38th minutes either side of a Michail Antonio equaliser, to earn his side a 2-1 win.

For Forest, the defeat was a setback to their slim hopes of a late play-off challenge, which had been fuelled by five wins in Freedman's first six games since succeeding...
