Antonino Pulvirenti has been in court over match-fixing claims.

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has launched a scathing attack on the president of Serie B club Catania, Antonino Pulvirenti, after the latter admitted fixing five of his side's matches for €100,000 each last season.

Pulvirenti is currently facing both criminal and sporting charges and Ferrero hopes he is punished severely on both accounts for what he has done.

The president of Catania football club, Antonio Pulvirenti, was among seven arrests made on Tuesday as part of the latest match-fixing investigation to hit Italian football.

Marco Borriello will return for a third stint at Genoa.

Former Italy forward Marco Borriello has left Roma for a third spell at Genoa, this time in a permanent transfer.

The 32-year-old has not made an appearance this campaign for Roma, which signed two strikers at the weekend, with the arrival of Seydou Doumbia and Victor Ibarbo.
