Zola returns to top-flight club management for the first time since leaving West Ham.

Gianfranco Zola says he is relishing the chance to save his former club from relegation after being appointed coach of Cagliari.

Zola makes a return to his Sardinian roots -- to the club where he started and finished his playing career -- almost a decade after he ended his playing career by leading the club up to Serie A and keeping them in the top flight.

Cagliari are Zola's hometown club, with the former striker having ended his career after playing for them for two years between 2003-05.

"Welcome home Gianfranco," read the statement...

Juventus celebrate taking an early lead through Carlos Tevez.

Juventus moved four points clear at the top of Serie A as they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory at Cagliari.

The Turin giants had drawn their last two games to see their lead at the top cut to just a point by second-placed Roma, but they never looked in danger in Sardinia from the moment Carlos Tevez stabbed home the opener after only three minutes.

Arturo Vidal curled home a fine second before the break and Fernando Llorente added a third early in the second half.
