Nice got their season up and running with their first three point haul thanks to a 2-1 win against Caen.

With the score level at the interval it was Nice who took control on 65 minutes when Hatem Ben Arfa superbly danced past three defenders before smashing an unstoppable shot under the bar.

Caen responded immediately, though, and Andy Delort beat the the Nice offside before netting from close range, beyond Moez Hassan.

Then, with less than quarter of an hour to play, Alassane Plea neatly plucked a...

Caen defender Damien Da Silva headed the only goal of the game to clinch his side a 1-0 home win against Toulouse.

Da Silva capped an impressive all-round display when he rose highest in the 70th minute to head home Julien Feret's free-kick and break the deadlock at the Stade Michel d'Ornano.

The solitary goal was enough to secure Caen a second successive Ligue 1 win following last week's opening-day success by the same score at Marseille.

Neither side produced many goalscoring chances but Caen went...

Marcelo Bielsa has resigned as Marseille coach just one match into the new season.

OM began their Ligue 1 campaign with a 1-0 loss to Caen at the Stade Velodrome, after which Bielsa announced his departure.

The Argentinian's position had been a source of off-season speculation, with suggestions he could leave to manage Mexico, and a club statement read: "In the post-match press conference, Marcelo Bielsa announced he was standing down from his post as OM coach."

OM's Twitter account carried several...

Leicester sign N'Golo Kante from Caen but Charles Aranguiz not keen

The ESPN FC crew give their picks for which teams will get relegated following the 2015/16 Premier League season.
ESPN FC's Craig Burley contends that Claudio Ranieri won't be able to replicate Nigel Pearson's season with Leicester and because of this the Foxes may go down.

Leicester City have signed midfielder N'Golo Kante from Caen for an undisclosed fee, but Bayer Leverkusen target Charles Aranguiz has said he does not want to join the Foxes.

Kante, who was also linked with Marseille, has signed a four-year contract at the King Power Stadium.

The 24-year-old Frenchman becomes new...

Caen rule out sale of N'Golo Kante to Marseille

N'Golo Kante, left, will continue to pester Marseille next season as a Caen player.

Marseille's difficult offseason appears to have suffered a further setback after their pursuit of midfielder N'Golo Kante was ruled "over" by his current club Caen.

OM had lined up the 24-year-old as a possible reinforcement to a squad weakened by the departures this summer of first-team stalwarts Andre Ayew, Dimitri Payet, Andre-Pierre Gignac, Giannelli Imbula, Rod Fanni and Jeremy Morel.

But Caen director Xavier Gravelaine remains hopeful of keeping Kante, a virtual ever-present since joining...
