Leaders Burton slumped to a second 1-0 defeat in four days as Miles Storey boosted Newport's play-off hopes with the only goal at the Pirelli Stadium.

The on-loan striker struck just before the hour mark as the hosts failed to bounce back from a midweek defeat at Accrington.

Newport goalkeeper Joe Day was tested by shots from Lucas Akins and Adam McGurk during a flurry of early Burton pressure.

Akins failed to make the most of a chance from 12 yards and there was more relief for the visitors when McGurk...

Josh Windass scored his first league goal to earn a 1-0 win for Accrington and end Burton's 13-game unbeaten run.

The table topping Brewers last tasted defeat back in November but they offered little up front against mid-table Accrington in front of a crowd of just 919.

It meant their lead at the top remained at just three points as they failed to capitalise on playing when their rivals were not in action.

Windass, son of Hull legend Dean, was Stanley's danger man from the off, trying a chip from distance...

Burton came from behind to defeat Dagenham 3-1 and move to the top of the League Two table.

All the goals came in the second half, but the Brewers nearly took the lead after just two minutes when a Ivan Calero free-kick clipped the crossbar.

Dagenham responded well and visiting defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff cleared an effort from Jamie Cureton off the line.

The remainder of the first period was scrappy, though, but on the stroke of half-time Mark Cousins brilliantly tipped a deflected Stuart Beavon...

Burton maintained their promotion bid with a 2-0 win over struggling Oxford.

Adam McGurk gave Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's men an early lead and Lucas Akins struck late on to keep Albion hot on the heels of leaders Shrewsbury.

McGurk followed up to head in from close range in the 13th minute after full-back Damien McCrory's stinging low drive looped up invitingly off U's goalkeeper Ryan Clarke.

Further chances were few and far between until the 43rd minute of a scrappy first half when Burton defender Phil...

Burton dropped home points for the first time under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as 10-man AFC Wimbledon battled to a 0-0 draw at the Pirelli Stadium.

Despite having defender Mark Phillips sent off in the second half, the Londoners ended Albion's run of six straight wins on their own turf since the Dutchman took charge.

The Dons were under pressure for much of the first half but made it to the break unscathed.

The nearest Burton came to a goal was in the eighth minute when Adam McGurk headed a Lucas Akins...
