Marvin Sordell lashed home a stunning equaliser for Burton that meant new Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray had to settle for a 1-1 draw in his first match in charge.

A headed own goal from Matty Palmer had given Blackburn a 31st-minute lead, as Mowbray led Rovers after taking over from Owen Coyle.

But Sordell levelled soon after the break and Burton's Lasse Vigen Christensen was then cruelly denied a late winner when his 20-yard effort hit both posts but stayed out.

Both sides were desperate for a victory...

Nigel Clough marked his return to the club that sacked him in September 2013 by delivering another blow to Derby's play-off hopes as Burton boosted their survival chances with a 0-0 draw at Pride Park.

Clough's team spent most of a disappointing game in their own half but Derby lacked the craft and confidence to break them down and created few chances.

Darren Bent, who had scored four goals in the previous two games, missed the best chance in the first half and Derby created little in the second as...

Michael Kightly scored his third goal in three games as Burton moved four points clear of the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone with a 2-1 win over play-off chasing Norwich.

Kightly's delightful lob from just outside the area proved decisive, with his strike coming minutes after Cameron Jerome had contentiously levelled for the Canaries, cancelling out Cauley Woodrow's first-half opener.

Loan signings Woodrow and Kightly were the goalscorers in Burton's last game at the Pirelli Stadium against Wolves...

Cauley Woodrow notched a 94th-minute winner for Burton against Wolves as the Brewers won for the first time in six games at the Pirelli Stadium.

The Fulham loanee marked his home debut with a clinical finish, turning sharply in the box to score after Matt Palmer's corner had been helped on by Tom Flanagan.

Former Wolves winger Michael Kightly had earlier capped a man-of-the-match performance by bagging a valuable equaliser against his former side to silence the visitors, who had taken a first-half...
