Bristol City secured the Sky Bet League One title following a goalless home draw against Coventry.

A point was enough for Steve Cotterill's team to be sure of top spot, while for Coventry it represented another step towards safety.

Home defender Derrick Williams wasted the best first-half chance when heading over from Luke Freeman's 11th-minute cormer.

But Coventry were lively going forward and home goalkeeper Frank Fielding had to produce a fine diving save to keep out John Fleck's 36th-minute volley...

Leaders Bristol City made sure of promotion from League One with a 6-0 rout of Bradford City at Valley Parade - a result which extends their unbeaten run to 12 matches and returns them to the Championship after a two-year absence.

The visitors went in front after 17 minutes through Bradford-born defender James Tavernier. The Wigan loanee saw his first shot cleared off the line by Bradford captain Stephen Darby with keeper Ben Williams beaten and reacted quickly to fire home from the rebound.

Aaron Wilbraham's 17th League One goal of the season helped Bristol City take another step towards automatic promotion - and the title - after a 1-1 draw at second-placed Preston.

Wilbraham, who had earlier been twice denied by goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, cancelled out Jermaine Beckford's strike as the points were shared at Deepdale.

The feisty encounter burst into life after 18 minutes when Wilbraham's glancing header, from Joe Bryan's cross, forced Johnstone into a great reflex save.

A memorable strike from Joe Bryan helped send Bristol City eight points clear at the top of League One as they saw off local rivals Swindon 3-0.

The Bristolian wing-back's curling effort was sandwiched between strikes by forwards Kieran Agard and Aaron Wilbraham as City moved to within six points of promotion.

Swindon, who won the corresponding fixture in November, were only denied an opener by three top-draw saves from goalkeeper Frank Fielding inside the 20th minute.

League One leaders Bristol City had to settle for a point as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Oldham.

Robins' top scorer Aaron Wilbraham netted his 18th goal of the season, but Oldham deservedly hit back through highly-rated midfielder Carl Winchester.

City made the brighter start and Wilbraham headed inches wide from Korey Smith's far-post cross.

Joe Bryan's header forced a reflex save from Oldham keeper Joel Coleman, but at the other end Frank Fielding made a scrambling stop when Mike Jones let fly...
