Zach Clough ensured Bolton returned to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship with his sixth goal of the season as they defeated Brighton 1-0.

The 19-year-old striker only made his senior debut against Wigan in the FA Cup at the start of January and in those two months Clough has become Wanderers leading scorer, overshadowing the exploits of big name signings Emile Heskey and Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Bolton's win and Brighton's first defeat in five games lifted the Lancastrians up to 17th in the table and...

Brighton fined 90,000 pounds by FA over Dale Stephens transfer

AMEX Stadium opened in July 2011.
Brighton signed Dale Stephens from Charlton at the end of January 2014.

Brighton have been hit with a 90,000-pound fine by the Football Association and warned over their future conduct for admitting breaches of the governing body's agent regulations.

The charges relate to the club's acquisition of midfielder Dale Stephens from fellow Championship side Charlton at the end of January 2014.

Three authorised agents have also been sanctioned and warned to their future conduct for their roles in the same case.

Goals in each half from Sam Baldock and Inigo Calderon gave Brighton successive home league wins for the first time in a year with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United.

United's hopes of forcing a sixth win in the last seven games were dashed as the Seagulls built on their 4-3 win over Birmingham in convincing fashion to ease their relegation fears before a crowd of 25,274.

Leeds, boasting 15 points from a possible 18 since the start of January coming into the game, started well and big defender Sol Bamba...

Joao Teixeira and Inigo Calderon both scored twice as relegation-threatened Brighton clinched their first win in six games with a 4-3 home victory over Birmingham.

City, who missed a penalty in first half stoppage time with the score 1-1, have now not won in their last eight league games.

The Seagulls, winners of only one of their previous seven home league games, made the perfect start when Portuguese midfielder Joao Teixeira gave them the lead after only eight minutes.

Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton drew 0-0 at Hillsborough in a game where a multitude of chances were created but none were taken.

Both teams started the game well, trading attack for attack in the opening stages with Joao Teixeira and Leon Best looking lively for the visitors, but it took until the 10th minute for the game's first real chance to arrive.

After some clever play around the box by the Owls, Kieran Lee found himself with his back to goal and the ball at his feet, but his shot on the turn...
