Borussia Monchengladbach want to take Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen on loan.

Gladbach are looking to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2015-16 campaign as they prepare to play in the Champions League for the first time in their history, and sporting director Max Eberl said 19-year-old centre-back Christensen is a prime target.

Thorgan Hazard is hoping to face Chelsea and his brother Eden after qualifying for the Champions League with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Raffael will not be joining Bayern Munich, according to Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl.

Raffael, 30, had been linked with a transfer to Bayern, with Express reporting the Bundesliga champions were preparing a €15 million offer.

Mandela Egbo has opted to continue his career in Germany.

England under-18s defender Mandela Egbo has joined Borussia Monchengladbach from Crystal Palace on a four-year deal.

Egbo, 17, signed a contract until June 30, 2019 after the full-back won the European U17s Championship in May last year.

"We are very happy that Mandela decided to play for us. He is a player with huge potential," Borussia's sporting director Max Eberl said.
