St Etienne moved into the top four of Ligue 1 by beating Bordeaux 4-1 in an incident-packed contest.

Les Verts were 2-0 ahead inside seven minutes as Vincent Pajot headed home and Osama Tannane scored his first goal since joining from Dutch club Heracles in January.

Cedric Yambere reduced the deficit from a 10th-minute corner, before Bordeaux goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni pushed Alexander Soderlund's penalty on to the post.

Alexandre Lacazette grabbed a brace as Lyon returned to winning ways with a 3-0 defeat of in-form Bordeaux.

Following a disappointing weekend defeat at lowly Bastia, Bruno Genesio was looking for instant response from his side and Lacazette's goals proved just the tonic before Aldo Kalulu rounded off a successful evening in added time.

Arsenal's Mathieu Debuchy relieved to join Bordeaux on loan

Mathieu Debuchy was presented as a Bordeaux player along with coach Willy Sagnol and president Jean Louis Triaud.

Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy says he is looking forward to simply enjoying his football again during his loan spell at Bordeaux.

Debuchy, 30, this week joined the French side until the end of the season after making just two Premier League appearances for the Gunners in the current campaign.

The former Newcastle player lost his place to Hector Bellerin at Arsenal and went on record several times to say that he wanted more games in order to make France's Euro 2016 squad
