The Serie A strugglers made a successful last-minute bid for the Corinthians midfielder on Friday but the day after, following a long flight to Italy from Brazil, the 31-year-old found nobody there to welcome him.

Bologna players 'reject training plan'

Bologna's players have reportedly taken a stand against their club's plan to take them into a four-day training camp in Rome by refusing to leave and instead inviting the fans to see them hard at work.

Stefano Pioli is urging his players to work hard.

A 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina at the weekend left the Serie A club just one place off the foot of the table with 12 points from 16 games, and led to club president Albano Guaraldi ordering a training camp in the capital to prepare for Sunday's clash with Genoa.
