Tens of thousands of Boca Juniors fans welcomed former Juventus forward Carlos Tevez back to the club on Monday.

Eleven years after first leaving, Tevez, who led Juve to the Champions League final in 2014-15, officially returned to his beloved Buenos Aires club, and was met with a sea of support in the stands of Boca's famed Bombonera stadium.

Juventus and Boca Juniors complete transfer for Carlos Tevez

ESPN FC's Alejandro Moreno responds to reports that Carlos Tevez's move back to Boca Juniors is complete.

Juventus have paid tribute to Carlos Tevez as "undoubtedly one of the most charismatic and exhilarating forwards Juventus have ever had" on Monday as they made his move to Boca Juniors official.

At the same time, the Argentine club announced plans for a news conference to unveil Tevez later on Monday. Tevez is moving back to his boyhood club after two years in Turin with a fee of €6.5 million euros, to be paid by Boca in a one-off payment on December 15, 2016.

Boca Juniors have officially announced the signing of Argentina international Carlos Tevez.

Boca announced the deal during Argentina's Copa America quarterfinal penalty shootout victory against Colombia, in which Tevez scored the winning spot kick.

Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid had also been rumoured to be interested in acquiring Tevez's services but Boca have won the race for his signature.
