Carlos Tevez apologises for leg breaking tackle on Ezequiel Ham

Carlos Tevez left Juve for Boca this summer.

Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez has apologised after a tackle on Argentinos Juniors midfielder Ezequiel Ham ended up breaking his opponent's leg.

Boca ran out 3-1 winners with the former Juventus striker netting a brace, but Tevez's challenge for a 50-50 ball made heavy contact with Ham's shin.

Tevez was not booked for the incident, but has apologised to Ham after it was revealed that the injury was serious.

Argentina adds police for River Plate vs. Boca Juniors

River Plate needed police protection to exit the pitch Thursday night at La Bombonera.
Police have stepped up security for River-Boca match.

A record 9,000 police officers will be on hand to provide security during the heated rivalries scheduled in Argentine football league action this weekend, including Sunday's match between River Plate and Boca Juniors.

The Copa Libertadores round-of-16 match between bitter Argentine rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate was suspended back in May of this year after River Plate players were sprayed with pepper spray.
