Blackpool fined £50,000, warned by FA for Bloomfield Road pitch invasion

Blackpool's final game of the 2014-15 season was halted 48 minutes in being eventually being abandoned.

Blackpool have been fined £50,000 by the Football Association following the pitch invasion which caused their final match of last season against Huddersfield at Bloomfield Road to be abandoned.

The Seasiders' final fixture was halted after 48 minutes when supporters poured on to the pitch in protest at the club's chairman, Karl Oyston.

After a sit-in demonstration in the centre circle that lasted more than an hour, the referee, Mick Russell, called the fixture off.

Blackpool were in the Premier League five years ago but have since been relegated to the third tier.

Fans have protested loudly at the way the club has...

Blackpool's Karl Oyston admits breaching FA rules for abusive texts

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has admitted to five breaches of Football Association rules for a text-message exchange in which he called a Seasiders supporter an insulting name.

The FA first opened a probe into Oyston's conversations with fan Stephen Smith back in December and followed that up by bringing a charge against him in March.

However, Oyston denied that charge one month later and challenged it as "unlawful," a claim which the governing body last week announced was dismissed by an arbitral...

Neil McDonald will have to placate the angry Blackpool fans after their relegation to League One.

Blackpool have hired former West Ham assistant Neil McDonald as their new manager.

The Seasiders, who will start next season in League One following their relegation out of the Championship, have handed Sam Allardyce's former number two McDonald a rolling one-year deal.

The 49-year-old has also been on the staff at Preston, Bolton, Crystal Palace and Leeds and succeeds Lee Clark in the post after he walked away from Bloomfield Road following a chaotic campaign both on and off the pitch.
