Lee Chung-yong denied rock-bottom Blackpool only their second win of the Championship season with a late equaliser for Bolton who drew 1-1 at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool, whose only league victory this term remains the 1-0 triumph against Cardiff on October 3, took the lead on 75 minutes through on-loan striker Jacob Murphy.

But South Korean international Lee fired home eight minutes from time to keep the Trotters just above the relegation zone.

The first chance fell to Blackpool after 11 minutes as...

Stanley Matthews' 1953 FA Cup winner's medal sells for £220,000

England international Matthews played until he was 50 years old.

The family of the late Sir Stanley Matthews have expressed their delight at the 220,000-pound record-breaking sale of his 1953 FA Cup winner's medal.

Presenter and comedian Nick Hancock put the item up for auction at Sotheby's and having far exceeded its anticipated 60,000-pound price, the famous Stoke fan will donate a sum from the proceeds to the former winger's foundation.

"It's wonderful news, and shows the passion and remembrance the public still have for Pop," said Matthews' daughter Jean...

Championship side Blackpool fined after fielding ineligible player

Blackpool have accepted a 30,000-pound fine, half of which is suspended, after the club were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in their Championship clash with Millwall earlier this season.

Donervon Daniels joined the Seasiders on Aug. 1 on a 28-day youth loan from West Brom, but was not correctly registered at the time of the Aug. 30 fixture in question.

The defender, who has now made 17 appearances for the club, played the full 90 minutes of the 2-1 loss to the Lions at The Den.

Leeds arrested an eight-game winless run and Neil Redfearn tasted his first victory as permanent head coach as Blackpool were beaten 3-1 at Elland Road.

United had not picked up three points since Redfearn's successful caretaker spell in September, with the subsequent poor form under Darko Milanic leading to the former academy director getting the job full-time last week.

His first two games yielded a point but the slump was halted against the league's bottom side, with Liam Cooper, Souleymane Doukara...

Blackpool's hopes of a shock victory were dealt a severe blow when Tony McMahon was sent off.

Lee Clark came away with a first point as Blackpool boss on his return to Fulham following a 2-2 draw at Craven Cottage.

But the former Cottagers midfielder watched his new side blow the chance of only their second win of the season thanks to a needless red card for captain Tony McMahon.

Clark, whose side kicked off eight points adrift at the foot of the table, looked set to steal his old Fulham team-mate Kit Symons' thunder on his first home match since being named permanent manager.
