Wolves could give George Saville a debut against Blackburn after he joined from Chelsea.

The midfielder penned a three-year deal, with the option of a fourth, at Molineux in a move worth around B£1m.

Tommy Rowe could make his first appearance in the squad after recovering from the broken toe he suffered during pre-season but winger Razak Boukari is out for a further three months after surgery on a hamstring injury.

Captain Sam Ricketts is still waiting for his first Sky Bet Championship appearance ...

Michael Dawson close to Hull switch

Michael Dawson joined Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in 2005.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has agreed a deal "in principle" to sign Tottenham defender Michael Dawson but admits a move for Jordan Rhodes is proving problematic.

Speaking after his side's 1-1 draw with Stoke, Bruce confirmed his summer-long pursuit of 30-year-old Dawson was close to bearing fruit and hopes to push the transfer through quickly.

However, having seen Blackburn reject two bids for striker Rhodes, there is plenty of work still to do if he is to replace Shane Long up front.

Jordan Rhodes underlined his value to Blackburn on the day Hull were told he was not for sale by inspiring Rovers to a 3-2 victory over Bournemouth.

The Scotland international marked his 100th appearance for the east Lancashire club by scoring his 54th goal just hours after Rovers had issued a statement confirming they had rebuffed two bids from the Tigers.

Rhodes' opener kick-started a first-half blitz which saw the hosts score three times inside 11 minutes. Captain Grant Hanley headed in a secon...

Blackburn reject Hull bids for Rhodes

Jordan Rhodes has been attracting attention.

Blackburn have told Hull they have no intention of selling striker Jordan Rhodes after rejecting two offers from the Premier League club.

The Tigers' initial bid, believed to be around eight million pounds, for Scotland international Rhodes was instantly turned down on Thursday and their follow-up enquiry has also met a dead end.

And Rovers released a statement on their official website on Saturday morning which read: "We have recently received two official bids for the services of Jordan Rhode...

Rovers play hard-ball over Rhodes

Jordan Rhodes could be headed for Hull.

Hull will be forced to spend nearly all of their Shane Long windfall if they are to land Blackburn's Jordan Rhodes as his replacement.

Scotland striker Rhodes, who has scored 53 goals in 99 appearances since joining Rovers two years ago, has emerged as Steve Bruce's No. 1 target but will not come cheap after Blackburn rejected an initial offer.

They want a profit on the eight million pounds they paid Huddersfield and value their prize asset in the same bracket as Long, who joined Southampton in...
