Mario Gomez enjoying football again after loan switch to Besiktas

Mario Gomez has said he is back to his best and does not envisage returning to Fiorentina after enjoying a resurgence in form with Besiktas.

Germany forward Gomez spent two injury-hit seasons with Fiorentina before being loaned to the Turkish club for two years last summer.

He has rediscovered his best and earned a recall to the Germany squad, scoring his first international since 2012 in the 3-2 defeat to England on Saturday.

"I'm fit again and I'm enjoying my football again, which was certainly...

Germany striker Mario Gomez to start against England - Joachim Low

ESPN FC's Raphael Honigstein discusses the possible starting XI's ahead of Germany's friendly against England.
The ESPN FC crew debate which countries have the biggest chance of winning the European Championship in France this summer.

Mario Gomez is set to start for Germany in their friendly at home to England on Saturday, Joachim Low has confirmed.

Fiorentina striker Gomez, currently on loan at Besiktas, had fallen out of favour under Low and missed the 2014 World Cup after struggling with injury, but he played the full 90 minutes of Germany's 2-0 friendly loss to France in November.

With Low having sent Max Kruse home on Monday, former Bayern Munich star Gomez is due to pick up his 62nd cap in Berlin when Roy Hodgson's England...

Germany should offer Mario Gomez return vs. France, Netherlands - Daum

ESPN FC's Janusz Michallik breaks down all the action from Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifying fixtures as Germany, Poland, Albania and Romania all booked their tickets to France.
Mario Gomez has scored 25 goals for Germany, but has not played for his national side since September 2014.

Mario Gomez should be offered a return to the Germany national team for their upcoming friendlies with France and Netherlands, according to Christoph Daum.

Former Bayer Leverkusen, Besiktas and Fenerbahce coach Daum, who was also on the brink of becoming Germany coach in 2000, believes the current Besiktas forward has the attributes Germany need to be more variable in their attack.

Gomez's last appearance in a Germany shirt came in a 4-2 friendly defeat to Argentina in September 2014, but his recent...
