With Euro 2016 on the horizon and the determination to break back into the Germany squad in time to be part of it, Gomez is convinced he made the right move, adding that he could not have returned to the Bundesliga.

Mario Gomez will be hoping to find form in Turkey to force himself back into the German squad for Euro 2016.

Besiktas have confirmed the signing of Germany international Mario Gomez from Fiorentina.

Gomez, 30, has joined on an initial one-year loan deal with a view to a permanent move being completed next summer.
