Javier Hernandez salary demands too high for MLS club LAFC - sources

Alejandro Moreno says MLS should go all out to lure Javier Hernandez, regardless of his hefty salary demands.
The FC guys debate how believable the Chicharito link to Lyon really is and all agree they'd much prefer to see him in MLS next season.

Talks to bring Bayer Leverkusen and Mexico forward Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez to Major League Soccer expansion side Los Angeles FC have cooled in large part because of salary demands, multiple league sources have told ESPN FC.

Hernandez has been the subject of bids by MLS teams several times in the past, including a period in 2015 when both the Chicago Fire and Orlando City expressed interest. On that occasion, his desire to remain in Europe and play in the UEFA Champions League prevented a deal...

Bayer Leverkusen rubbish links to Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel

Paul Mariner evaluates the quality of the Bundesliga apart from the top clubs of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Bayer Leverkusen have dismissed a report linking Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel with their managerial position.

Tuchel's future at Dortmund is in doubt after a disagreement with the club's hierarchy, and although he has a year left on his contract and BVB have said they will hold talks with their head coach at the end of the season, it is possible that he will leave the post.

Leverkusen, meanwhile, have announced they will part ways with interim coach Tayfun Korkut following their final match...

The 20-year-old defender joined first joined Leverkusen's Under-8 team in 2005. He was selected by Joachim Low for Germany's World Cup qualifier against San Marino on Nov. 11 and was included in the Confederations Cup squad announced on Wednesday.

"It's great for me that the club I've been at since I was 13 years old has given me all these...

Bayer Leverkusen will part ways with Tayfun Korkut at end of season

Tayfun Korkut woe at Bayer
Bayer boss Tayfun Korkut has just one win in 10 Bundesliga matches since taking over for Roger Schmidt.

LEVERKUSEN, Germany -- Bayer Leverkusen are not extending manager Tayfun Korkut's contract beyond the end of what has been a disappointing season for the club.

Leverkusen managing director Michael Schade said: "Football is a result-dependent sport and the results have not always been right, unfortunately."

Korkut, who took over from the sacked Roger Schmidt in March, has just one win from his 10 league games in charge.

Drawing with Cologne 1-1 in the Rhine derby on Saturday was his fifth such result,...

Jonathan Tah expects to return from a thigh injury against Cologne on Saturday.

Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah warned that his club must not lose their derby against Cologne at home on Saturday because it would increase their risk of being relegated.

Leverkusen enter the game just three points clear of the relegation zone with the derby and a game away against Hertha Berlin remaining.

They have not won any of their last five Bundesliga games and have won only one of their last 11. Their lone victory was against Darmstadt, who have since been relegated, on April 5.
