Hakan Calhanoglu wants to stay at Bayer Leverkusen

Hakan Calhanoglu scored three Bundesliga goals last season.

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu says he is totally committed to the Bundesliga club, but is aware he must perform better than he did last season if he is to make the grade.

Leverkusen's general manager Jonas Boldt recently said he would "certainly have to consider it if a certain bid were made" for the Turkey international, but Calhanoglu does not want to entertain the idea of leaving.

"If we were to go separate ways then I would definitely be sad," he told the Express newspaper. "Of...

Bayern Munich not after Leverkusen's Javier Hernandez - Carlo Ancelotti

Bayern Munich head coach Carlo Ancelotti believes Robert Lewandowski will again be vital for the Bavarian giants this season.
Franck Ribery and David Alaba say they are enjoying life with Bayern's new coach.
Franck Ribery and David Alaba said that Carlo Ancelotti has already made a great first impression as a coach and person.
Carlo Ancelotti sits down with ESPN FC's Raf Honigstein to talk about Bayern Munich and playing Milan and Real Madrid in the ICC.

Carlo Ancelotti has declared his dealings in the transfer market over this summer, closing the door on a mooted move for Bayer Leverkusen's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez.

Bayern Munich have signed just Renato Sanches and Mats Hummels to close out the transfer season, but that is enough for the Italian coach.

He denied rumours that Bayern could make a move for the Mexican forward, whom he coached at Real Madrid in the 2014-15 campaign.

"I have a lot of love for Chicharito," Ancelotti said at a news...

Bayer Leverkusen hit by injuries to Da Costa and Baumgartlinger

Julian Baumgartlinger impressed at the Euros.

Bayer Leverkusen could start the Bundesliga season without defender Danny da Costa and midfielder Julian Baumgartlinger.

Da Costa is to undergo an operation on Thursday to remove a metal rod which was used to stabilise his fractured tibia in 2014 and will be sidelined for several weeks.

Austria international Baumgartlinger has been training on his own because of an adductor muscle problem and will not rejoin his teammates until deemed fit enough by the club.

A statement on the club's website said...

Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez not seeking exit - Leverkusen's Schmidt

The ESPN FC team revisit Javier Hernandez's time at Manchester United and discuss how he has grown at Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt says it is highly likely Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez will stay at the club this season.

Hernandez, 27, impressed following his move from Manchester United last summer, scoring 26 goals in 38 games in all competitions for the Bundesliga side.

The Mexico international's goals helped Leverkusen qualify for Champions League for a fourth consecutive campaign, but there has been speculation he could move on after just a year in Germany.

Lars and Sven Bender selected in Germany's Olympics squad

After some mixed Euro 2016 performances, Germany is retaining Joachim Low as head coach through the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Sven Bender will play with his brother Lars for Germany at the Olympics this summer.

Lars and Sven Bender have been selected as two of Germany's three overage players in the nation's 18-man squad for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Coach Horst Hrubesch has called up the twins, World Cup winner Matthias Ginter, Schalke's Max Meyer and Leverkusen's Julian Brandt.

The DFB faced a selection dilemma with Hertha Berlin players Niklas Stark and Mitchell Weiser as well as Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mo Dahoud unavailable because of their involvement in qualifiers for the Europa...
