He's now carving a new career in India, but Chelsea fans across Asia will remember German defender Manuel Friedrich as the Bayer Leverkusen man who so nearly spoilt their club's Champions League glory in the 2011-12 season.

In a group game against the Blues, Friedrich scored a last-minute winner which left the London club needing a victory in the last group game against Valencia to qualify for the last 16 stage. Chelsea defeated the La Liga side 3-0 at Stamford Bridge and did not look back as they...

Kiessling, 30, is hoping to rediscover his eye for goal.

Bayer Leverkusen attacker Stefan Kiessling believes his goal drought will end soon after going without a goal for 814 minutes.

Kiessling, 30, last found the back of the net in Leverkusen's first Bundesliga match of the season at Borussia Dortmund. He set up one more in their 3-3 draw with Werder Bremen on matchday three, but has since had no direct involvement in any league goal.

In the Champions League, the former Germany international's last and only goal of the competition came on Oct. 1 when...
