First-half goals from Tom Bradshaw and Conor Hourihane gave Barnsley a 2-1 victory over Norwich at Oakwell.

The visitors produced an improved second-half performance, with Nelson Oliveira pulling a goal back.

But they were unable to score an equaliser, allowing Barnsley to close the gap to the eighth-placed Canaries to two points in the Sky Bet Championship.

Barnsley's Ryan Kent tried an early long-range shot which was comfortably dealt with by keeper John Ruddy.

Barnsley bounced back from a 5-2 home hammering against Nottingham Forest to record a shock 3-0 Sky Bet Championship win at lacklustre Birmingham.

As a result of a first-half strike from Marc Roberts and two late goals in the space of two minutes from Sam Winnall, Birmingham slumped to their first home defeat in eight games and in the process wasted a wonderful opportunity to consolidate their top-six position.

In recent games Birmingham have lived dangerously but on this occasion they failed to enjoy...

Henri Lansbury scored a hat trick as Nottingham Forest ran out 5-2 winners against 10-man Barnsley at Oakwell.

The hosts led twice in the first half but both times held their advantage for less than 10 minutes as Forest secured back-to-back away wins in the Championship.

Barnsley have now gone seven home league games without a win, but it looked like that run was coming to an end as first Sam Winnall and then Marley Watkins put them in front either side of Lansbury's long-range equaliser.

Wigan produced a solid defensive display away from home, earning a 0-0 with Barnsley at Oakwell.

The draw gives Warren Joyce his first point since he took charge of the Latics but also saw them fall further into the relegation zone.

It was the Tykes' third consecutive draw and for the second game in a row, they failed to score, even though they arguably had better opportunities to seal all three points.

It was the visitors who created the first chance of the game, David Perkins received the ball from...

"Today, the Cryne family informed the club that Patrick is suffering from cancer," read a statement on the club's official website.
