Barnet midfielder Dan Sweeney is a doubt for Saturday's Sky Bet League Two game at home to Grimsby.

Sweeney is still recovering from the knock he picked up during the win over Newport County on Tuesday.

Curtis Weston and Richard Brindley are both back in training and close to a return to action but this weekend is likely to come too soon for the pair.

Elliott Johnson and Dave Tarpey are both out with long-term knee injuries.

Grimsby are expected to be without Martyn Woolford and James Berrett at the...

Striker Tom Pope thundered home a late penalty to hand Port Vale a hard-fought 1-0 win over second-bottom Barnet at Vale Park.

The hosts had enjoyed the better of the chances, but were frustrated by the visitors - in manager Mark McGhee's first game in charge - until Pope stepped up to fire home his ninth goal of the season.

Referee Anthony Blackhouse pointed to the spot in the 79th minute when James Gibbons was brought down, before Pope confidently put away the penalty.

Just before the half-hour mark, Colchester's Ryan Inniss put in a great block to deflect Mauro Vilhete's goalbound...

Blackburn roared back with three second-half goals to beat Barnet 3-1 and avoid a shock FA Cup first-round exit.

The League Two visitors threatened an upset through Simeon Akinola's 31st-minute opener, but Rovers showed their class after the break with goals from Joe Nuttall, Danny Graham and Marcus Antonsson.

Blackburn had not lost at this stage since 1971 and started well, with Graham denied an opener by a superb save from Barnet goalkeeper Craig Ross.

But the Bees went ahead when Jack Taylor powered...

Accrington moved up to second in Sky Bet League Two after a 4-1 win over struggling Barnet.

Stanley dominated the first half and got their deserved goal in the 35th minute through Sean McConville, the captain taking the ball inside the box from Billy Kee and smashing it home for his fourth of the season.

However two minutes later, Barnet were awarded a penalty with Jack Taylor fouled in the area by Jordan Thorniley. Bees striker Jamal Campbell-Ryce hit the underside of the crossbar with his spot-kick...
